Welcome Back, Wildcats!

The 2020-21 School Year is Soon Underway!

The Re-Entry Plan for LT secondary schools has been CHANGED.

Please review the new IN-PERSON HYBRID MODEL for all secondary students in grades 7-12, outlined in a letter from Dr. Smith.

In accordance with State and Marion County guidelines, the MSDLT Board of Education has revised the Re-Entry Plan and will update continuously to inform all parents/families regarding the adjustments and accommodations for the upcoming school year.

MSDLT is still offering students and families VIRTUAL SCHOOL ACCESS for the fall 2020 semester. Please open the links and read carefully before making decisions for your child/ren. Parents are asked to make a decision regarding student school attendance (In-person or Virtual) no later than August 27, 2020.

Families who had previously selected VIRTUAL SCHOOL ACCESS and would like to CHANGE FROM VIRTUAL back to IN-PERSON HYBRID ACCESS must submit the embedded form indicating their updated decision.

The MSDLT Board of Education adopted a REVISED SCHOOL CALENDAR 2020-21 at the board meeting on Monday, July 20th. The first day of school for students has been moved from Monday, August 3, to THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th.

***REMINDER, ALL IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE in response to State, Local and medical officials. Please listen to the Sunday night phone calls from Mr. Crousore, visit the LT Schools website and secure information directly from LT sources.

First Day of School for 2020-2021

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th is the first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year.

Final plans for the first two days of school will be shared in the upcoming days as adjustments are made to accommodate the new HYBRID RE-ENTRY plan. ***OPENING DAY and current plans are subject to change in response to COVID-19 impacts.

Our school leaders are making adjustments daily to respond to the directives from State and Marion County leaders and those adjustments will be reflected, as necessary for the health and safety of our students, educators and staff throughout Lawrence Township.

Please visit the MSDLT WEBSITE regularly to get up-to-date information from the source, allowing you to be informed to make the best decisions for your student(s) and family.

Student Schedules

Student schedules will be available to view on Skyward the week of Monday, August 3rd. Counselors are currently processing schedule changes as a result of summer school grades, students moving to VIRTUAL enrollment, students moving from VIRTUAL back to In-Person Hybrid and also making adjustments to in-person classes as a result of the VIRTUAL enrollment changes.

More information will be provided to students and families about REQUESTING SCHEDULE CHANGES as we get closer to August 3rd and have accurate student data available.

Schedule changes will be EXTREMELY LIMITED this fall to accommodate social distancing in classes and maintain accurate records for contact tracing.

Seniors...there are two scholarship programs with early deadlines and we want you to be aware of each. LN ROCKED these scholarship programs last year with TWO seniors selected as Lilly Scholars and TWO seniors selected as Questbridge Scholars. And now...we want MORE!

Lilly Scholars--seniors must show outstanding scholarship, community involvement, plan to attend an Indiana college or university and demonstrate poise and promise for the future. Please read the INVITATION TO APPLY and if interested in submitting the 2020-21 Lilly Application. Please note the AUGUST 14th DEADLINE for electronic submission. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Questbridge Scholars--seniors who are academically talented and also qualify financially are encouraged to get familiar with the Questbridge program and the 40+ partner colleges/universities. If interested, complete applications must be submitted in SEPTEMBER, so time is of the essence in this process. We had TWO scholars selected last year...one student will be attending Notre Dame and one student will be attending USC...at NO COST for four years. Questbridge is the real deal...highly competitive and highly rewarding.

Freshman Orientation a Success!

LN hosted nearly 500 of the 700+ incoming freshman students at the 2024 Freshman Orientation held on Thursday, July 30th. Parents...your kids were AWESOME! Students wore masks throughout their visit and were fairly consistent with social distancing, were efficient and purposeful in the building allowing most to spend a little time touring LN, picked up ID's and chromebooks AND asked great questions. Thanks to our PAC students for doing an exceptional job as student leaders and mentors.

Class of 2024...WELCOME to Lawrence North!

Celebrating the Class of 2020

Making Plans for Life After Lawrence North

SENIORS in the Class of 2021 will have access to information throughout the year, helping them to explore interests, opportunities and possibilities for life after high school graduation. LN Counselors hosted several sessions this spring with our Class of 2021, providing resources to spur ideas and help students start digging into their next steps. Whether COLLEGE (2-year or 4-year), CAREER (earn-while-you-learn, apprenticeships, technical training, etc.), MILITARY or another interest, our Wildcats have access to outstanding career and college-planning tools, resources and personnel. Encourage your SENIOR to take a look at the "Hey...SENIORS" newsletter to start the conversation about next steps.
