Bransford Blast
April 8, 2018
What an amazing week we experienced at Bransford!
Our fifth graders began live streaming video announcements, written, produced, and run all by them. Fifth grader are true examples of self-regulated learners and effective communicators!
Students from across the district and surrounding cities participated in the Special Olympics at Cross Timbers Middle School on Wednesday. Our Bransford athletes did an amazing job competing!
Three fourth grade students and three fifth grade students served as guest greeters for the Colleyville Chamber Luncheon. These students were excellent representatives of the terrific Texan students!
On Friday night, PTA hosted the inaugural B.E.S.T. pARTy. What a FANTASTIC evening of community building and fundraising! Friday night was a true example of building an excellent school together as we work to redefine education at Bransford through arts integration! Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL who worked tirelessly to put this event together! From coming up with the idea for the event to designing the logo to securing the band to decorating all day Friday to gathering countless auction items, our families went above and beyond to make Friday night amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL who supported the event through donations, attendance, and/or participating in the auctions! Stay tuned for final numbers from Friday night. Again, thank you for investing in our Texans!
This week, our fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to show-off their learning by taking STAAR. On Tuesday, fourth graders take writing STAAR and fifth graders take STAAR math. On Wednesday, fifth graders take STAAR reading. Thursday and Friday are reserved for make-up tests. Please remember that Bransford is closed to visitors Tuesday through Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Join us Tuesday evening at Snuffer's for our April spirit night. A portion of the proceeds come back to Bransford.
Looking forward to a fantastic week as we continue to build an excellent school together!
Educationally yours,

Back to School Fair
We are excited to announce that GCISD is once again partnering with the community to serve our economically disadvantaged students. The seventh-annual Back to School Fair is scheduled for Saturday, August 11, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Grapevine High School. This is a collaborative event sponsored by GCISD, CONNECT, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation, and the Women's Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. Last year, with support of our staff and community, these organizations provided free backpacks, school supplies and other back-to-school needs to approximately 1,200 GCISD students.
We are in desperate need of volunteers! We need both English and Spanish speaking volunteers - the more, the better. This is a very rewarding experience and you will be happy you were part of it - guaranteed! We need assistance with checking families in, guiding families through the fair, and assisting nutrition and transportation with bilingual communication.
Join us in the fun of helping our less fortunate families. We look forward to seeing you there.
