Mustang News
March 21, 2022
Dear Alamo Famlies,
We were confident of catching leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day with the students' creative and inviting traps. Please see the picture below!
Last week, third graders trekked to the one-room schoolhouse for our first in-person field trip for the year! No matter the weather, the second group had a bit of rain, the students learned about the one-room Tassajara Schoolhouse in Danville. Through role-playing, the One-room Schoolhouse Program aims to help students compare and contrast today's classroom with a one-room school, including understanding and respecting our rural school heritage. Please see the pictures below!
We are grateful to field trip chaperones. Because of you, we could extend student learning beyond the classroom. Our students love the experiences in-person field trips offer. As we return to chaperoning after a long hiatus, here are reminders to keep everyone safe:
- Put the cell phone away unless needed for field trip purposes.
- Help keep the group together and account for the students under your supervision.
- Avoid overly chatting with other parent chaperones.
- Stop disruptive student behavior or let the teacher know.
- There are no detours to and from school to pick up a snack for the students in your car.
- Have fun and participate!
Our deepest thanks for your generous donations; we beat our goal of $12,500 for our Online Silent Auction. When you donate to a school, you can see your investment at work with expanding programs, watching students gain access to higher learning and broader opportunities.
We are proud to be Alamo Mustangs!
With gratitude,
Principal Salazar

Silent Auction Thank You: A huge amount of appreciation to our amazing parent and staff volunteers who worked so hard to prepare the online silent auction! Please join me in thanking our Online Silent Auction Chair: Dina Warshavsky, and her team Nayela Keen, Bar Mizne, and Daniel Kopelovich. Thank you also to our parent volunteers who run our marketing campaigns: Rachel Miegel, Kelly Bowes, Nina Voss, Bar Mizne and Bridget Williams! Kudos to our teacher rep, Andrea Fettig for helping to organize and schedule Teacher for a Day, and of course, all of our staff members offering these priceless opportunities for our students.
We are proud to report that, together, we exceeded our goal of $12,500!. All funds raised will go toward maintaining the Alamo Education Fund’s critical programs: music, art, paraeducators, reading instructional assistants, and social-emotional learning. We couldn’t have done this without our extraordinarily engaged community of parents, family members, teachers, administration, alumni, neighbors, volunteers and local businesses.
*Be sure to come to room 301 after school 12:50-1:30 on Wednesday, March 23rd to pick up any items won from the silent auction!
If you missed out on the online silent auction and would like to make a direct donation, click here, or keep a lookout for our opportunities to donate and bid at “Bocce, Bubbles and BBQ” on May 21st! Tickets will go on sale when we return from Spring Break.
Thinkworks Spring Session: Registration opens Wednesday, March 23rd, for our final ThinkWorks session of this school year! We will be offering multiple classes that are new to Alamo students. Keep an eye on your email for calendar and registration information.

If you need to make other arrangements, please email alamo.edfundauction@srvef.org.
