Welcome Back Mission View Community! We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful summer vacation. As I begin my 24th year in education, my excitement for a new school year never seems to fade. Each year brings excitement and optimism for welcoming our new and returning students, staff, and families. We are all eager to start the work we have been eagerly planning and preparing this summer. We look forward to seeing you at our back to school events- Registration, Meet and Greet, and Open House. It is an honor and a privilege to continue to serve our Mission View community. Back to School Registration- July 27 and 28
Our office staff will be available on July 27 and July 28, from 8am-1pm to help you complete your child's registration. If you still need to provide any documentation, such as immunization records, or proof of residence, you can stop by our office to provide the documents.
Teacher Meet and Greet
Please join us on Wednesday, August 2nd, from 2-3pm to meet your child's teacher. At this time you will also receive a school supply list and information to connect with Class Dojo to receive class and school communication.
PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports)
Our school implements PBIS to help support student behavior. Some of our PBIS practices include restorative conferences, class meetings, reflections, and apologies. It also includes weekly lessons from our counselors to teach things such as empathy, problem solving, or bully prevention. Schoolwide, we focus on our 3 expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Kind. Our goal is to recognize positive behaviors and acknowledge them with our Coyote HOWLS. Students may then redeem those coyote HOLWS for prizes at our bi-weekly tiendita (little store). We also recognize students who are exemplar models of those behaviors at our quarterly awards assemblies. Thank you for your support in helping us teach positive behaviors.
Open House
Please join us on August 15th, 5:00-6:30pm for Open House. Come meet your child's teacher and find out what your child will be learning this year, important events, and how you can support your child. We will provide two 45-minute sessions 5:00-5:45pm and 5:45-6:30pm, to allow parents the opportunity to visit more than one class to hear the full teacher presentation, starting at 5:00pm or 5:45pm.
Please connect with your child's teacher's Class Dojo. This allows us to directly communicate with all of our families. Teachers can send individual messages, whole class messages, and we can also send schoolwide messages. This it the most efficient way to quickly communicate, so connect and stay in the know.
Parent Teacher Association
All of you are invited to our first PTA meeting on Tuesday, August 22nd, at 3:00pm. We need all family and staff input, ideas, and support to have a successful school year. PTA is in need of a Secretary, so please let us know if you are interested. PTA has one meeting each month to plan school events, show staff appreciation, and coordinate school fundraisers, such as our Fall Fiesta. Please come join us to share your ideas, input, and volunteer for events. We appreciate all your support!
