MONTHLY/QUARTERLY SWEEPSTAKES & CONTESTS

Marine Corps Career & Technical Education Scholarships

Award: $1,500, $2,500, $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000 per academic year

Due: The CTE scholarship application is available all year and applications are processed every month.


This scholarship is for children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen pursuing a post-secondary education at any school listed on the National Center for Education Statistic’s College Navigator website at https://mcsf.scholarshipapps.org/cte/index.cfm. The scholarships are need-based, and scholarships are awarded to every eligible applicant.

AISD/Texas Scholarships

Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) Alumni Association Scholarship for Academic Excellence

Award: (2 to 3) @ $2,000 to $2,500

Due: 3/1


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduating Austin ISD seniors who will be enrolled in a college or university in the following academic year • Top 10% of your graduating classes.

Recipients are not restricted to any particular college or university or any major or discipline.

Graduating High School Seniors who will be the first generation in their family to attend college


REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

• Mail completed application form and the following materials in a single packet to the address on the application

• Copy of high school transcript

• Letter of recommendation

• Essay

• List and brief description of academic distinctions, honors and awards you have received during your high school career

• List and brief description of extracurricular activities, work experience, and any community service you have been involved with during your high school career.

Austin Delta Foundation Scholarship

Award: (Varies) Numerous scholarships will be awarded for a total amount up to $20,000

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduating African American female seniors

• 2.75 or above cumulative GPA

• High School Senior

• Must be willing to participate in an interview if requested


SUBMIT:

• Essay

• Official transcript

• Photograph

• Two letters of recommendation

• SAT/ACT scores

• Documentation of community service (minimum of 20 hours documented)

Austin Sierra Club Environmental Leadership Scholarship

Award: Maximum (4) @ $1,500 each

Note: Three of the scholarships are for seniors on free or reduced price lunch and one scholarship is open to any senior regardless of family income.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Austin ISD graduating seniors

• Plan to attend an accredited college in Fall 2020

• Graduating on Recommended Plan AND passed all parts of End of Course (EOC)


SUBMIT:

• Application

• 500-word Essay discussing how you have contributed as a leader or participant to helping the environment and how you plan to use your undergraduate education to continue to improve the quality of the environment. If you have limited experience, you may describe the impact that you hope to have and any challenges you have overcome to achieve your goals.

• Transcript with EOC scores

• Must provide proof of college enrollment before receiving funds

PDK Prospective Educator Scholarship

Award: $5000 each

Due: 4/2


The PDK Educational Foundation awards more than 30 scholarships each year to prospective educators who have a connection to PDK by having a family member or teacher who is a PDK member, or through membership in Educators Rising. All scholarships are available under a single application.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a high school senior intending to major in education who is a good standing member of Educators Rising, a high school senior intending to major in education who is the child or grandchild of a Kappan in good standing, a high school senior intending to major in education who has one of his/her reference letters written by a Kappan in good standing or an undergraduate member of PDK who is enrolled in a college education program.

Numerous scholarship opportunities available to high school seniors enrolled or who will be enrolled at ACC. Please check ACC website for specific eligibility criteria.

National Association of Women in Construction - Austin Chapter Scholarship

Award:$500 to $2500

Due: 2/28


**NOTE: Male and female seniors may apply to this scholarship**


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant must be currently enrolled in (or have been accepted into) a construction-related program at a school in the United States and must have a least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a certification or degree in a construction related field

• Desire a career in a construction-related field

• Enrolled full-time

• Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Oak Hill Elementary School PTA Scholarship

Award: (3) @ $500 each

Due: 4/26


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduating AISD seniors

• Attended Oak Hill Elementary


SUBMIT:

• Official high school transcript with SAT/ACT scores


Applications must be received in the office at Oak Hill Elementary by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019. Campuses may send applications through AISD school mail; however, applications must be RECEIVED by April 26, 2019. Applications will not be picked up from the AISD high schools, they must be delivered to Oak Hill Elementary.


Recipients will be invited to attend the May PTA meeting at 6:00 p.m. to receive their scholarship awards.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• First Time College Student

• Enrolling For Fall 2019 Semester (Minimum 6 Credit Hours)

• Mexican Immigrants & Children of Mexican Immigrants

• Latino Immigrants & Children of Latino Immigrants

• Show Financial Need

• Reside in one of the following Texas Counties: Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Brown, Burnet, Caldwell, Coryell, Comanche, Coleman, Falls, Fayette, Hamilton, Hays, Lampasas, Lee, Limestone, Llano, McLennan, Milam, Mills, San Saba,Travis or Williamson.

For students who have, at some time in their school career, been enrolled in a compensatory education program. Compensatory Education includes programs such as Title I, Bilingual/ESL, State Compensatory Education (SCE), Migrant, and Homeless.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:


  • You must be a current Texas High School senior graduating in 2020
  • GPA 3.3
  • Have participated in UIL Competition as a high school student and have been active in community service programs or events

ORGANIZATION/FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship & Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship

Award: (20) @ $2,500 each

Due: 3/15


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduating high school seniors

• Plan to enroll full-time in one of the following majors (geology, geophysics, physics, chemical, civil, electrical, geological, geophysical, mechanical or petroleum engineering) at a specified institution

• Be lawfully authorized to work on a full-time basis in the United States without any form of sponsorship


INCENTIVE FUND SCHOLARSHIP ONLY:

• Be a member of an underrepresented minority group: Black (Not of Hispanic Origin), Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native and must self-identify as such on the application.


Note: Students are only eligible to receive either the Shell Incentive Fund or the Shell Technical Scholarship.
