Rock Hill Review
April 12, 2020
Opening Up
We are still moving along in "Building the Hill" this week! It has been a fun experience getting to be a part of that all the "firsts" that go along with creating programs. We had our first District 10-5A meeting and are starting to schedule out events for next year. It has definitely been a bright spot to say the least, in the midst of our current situation. It gives hope that we have many great things to look forward to next year and it's going to be tremendously exciting with all of us experiencing several of these "firsts" together! I can't thank our Directors and Head Coaches enough, as they are stepping up to continue the momentum we have going into next year. It's awesome to see and be part of all the virtual meet and greets as well as following along on social media. It's always a GREAT day to be a BLUE HAWK and amazing days are ahead for RHHS!!!

Fine Arts and Athletics Interest Survey
To reiterate what we've mentioned throughout this process, one of the positives in opening Rock Hill and subsequent High Schools in Prosper is to provide more opportunities for all our students. With that being said, we sent an interest survey to all our students to make sure we are not missing any kids who are thinking about participating in a Fine Arts program or in Athletics but haven't fully committed. This will allow the Coaches and Directors of the programs to communicate with those students and encourage them to at least try their program.
If you could make sure your student(s) have filled out the below survey, that would help us out tremendously.
Introducing our Rock Hill Head Softball Coach!

Rock Hill Swim Program: House Divided!
Each has provided a short bio below their picture:
Head Swim Coach - Ms. Kimberly Phillips
Coach Kimmy Phillips comes to us with eight years of swim coaching experience, including four years teaching and coaching high-school swimmers.
She started her high-school career as the head coach of Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas, where she coached two of the district’s most improved swimmers in the women’s 500 freestyle and the men’s 50 and 100 freestyle. She tripled the number of swims from her school at the regional swim meet and doubled the number of participants at the UIL 5A Swimming and Diving state meet. Coach Phillips then moved to Belton High School and coached both the high school and club teams. After one year of being named head coach, she coached her men’s team to a district championship for the first time in four years, had a swimmer set a new school record in the women’s 100 fly, and was named district coach of the meet.
In addition to her coaching experience, Coach Phillips is a social studies teacher and has taught world geography and world history. She was selected by her department to receive advanced placement training and taught AP Human Geography this past year.
Coach Phillips is also a decorated high-school and collegiate swimmer. She was a four-time state qualifier and received All-State honors 11 times while in high school. She began her collegiate career at The University of North Texas. There, she holds the school record for the 1,000 freestyle; 1,650 freestyle; and the 800 freestyle relay. Coach Phillips was the Mean Green’s first NCAA Championships qualifier in the history of the school, qualifying in both the 1,650 and 500 freestyle. She was a Mid-Major All-American and two-time Academic All-American. After her sophomore year, she transferred to The University of Texas at Austin as the country’s most improved collegiate distance swimmer. At UT, she placed 3rd in the 1,650 freestyle at The Big 12 Championships. She has a degree in Kinesiology, Physical Culture and Sports with a minor in education from The University of Texas at Austin.
Coach Phillips is excited to join the Blue Hawks and help BUILD THE HILL!

Introducing the Rock Hill English Department
Mrs. Coshari Chacchia - English Department Chair
I am a proud graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas (Go Roos!), and an even prouder mom of three amazing children (admittedly so, I'm a bit biased). Although I am no longer a coach, coaching team sports has been a huge part of my life, and I continue to bring that coaching spirit to my classroom. My goal will always be to encourage our students while guiding them to be their best and celebrating each of their achievements along the way.
I look forward to all of the excitement that our inaugural year will bring and I anticipate the pride of seeing our Blue Hawks rise!
Mrs. Courtney Foster
Mrs. Tiffany Henschel
I have taught ELA in grades 9-12 for on-level, Pre-AP, and AP. I have also taught PSAT and SAT/ACT prep courses. Some highlights of my experience prior to this year are serving my schools as advisor for National Honor Society, lead AP teacher, supervising teacher, and mentor teacher. I also collaborated with the planning committee to transition my school to a Health Science Academy with the National Academy Foundation.
My goal as a teacher is to build relationships with students so I can help them discover their own goals and inspire them to be the best they can be. An important tenet of the Prosper Graduate Profile is to honor others and exhibit respect, and I actively cultivate an atmosphere of collegiality among class members. Please let me know how I can help you reach your goals for next year.
Mrs. Kylie Fainshtein
Mr. Stuart Gill
Mrs. Lauren Hodum
I live in McKinney with my two children: William, 7 years old and Eleanor, 3 years old. They love to watch Prosper ISD sports so you’ll see us at future Blue Hawk events!

I received my bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). I also have a Masters degree in Humanities with a focus of Modern and Post- Modern Literature from the University of Dallas. I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught On-Level English 3, AP English Language and AP English Literature. While this is my third year at Prosper High School, I taught for 12 years at Plano West Senior High School. I am very passionate about meeting the educational needs of the exceptional and unique GT and AP students at Rock Hill High School.

Mrs. Christine Parson (New to PISD)
Mrs. Melissa Pabon (New to PISD)
Mrs. Julie Cummings (New to PISD)
Mrs. Christina Friar - Assistant Girls Volleyball and Assistant Track Coach
Prior to entering education I coached at the college level as an assistant for UT-Arlington Volleyball and was a Sports Reporter for KXII in Sherman. Throughout this time I have also coached club for Skyline Volleyball Club, PSA-McKinney Summer Camps, and currently coach at Arete Athletics.
In my free time, you can find me cheering on my husband, who is the Head Basketball Coach at Frisco Liberty, and dancing around with my four children who are also future Blue Hawks. I have a passion for empowering young people to get after their dreams and can’t wait to bring that spirit to Rock Hill!
Mr. Paul Buckley (New to PISD)
Mrs. Kendra Lee - Varsity Cheer Sponsor (New to PISD)
This will be my fifth year teaching high school English and coaching cheer, but my first year in Prosper ISD. I am so excited to be a part of this district and fantastic community. I can’t wait to serve our students and be a member of the Rock Hill nation!
I graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor’s in English. I then received my Master’s in Education Leadership from the University of North Texas.
My husband is currently serving with the Army and we are stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado. We are beyond ecstatic to get back to Texas and be a part of this amazing school!
Mrs. Jennifer Cheng (New to PISD)
Ever since graduating from UT Austin, I have spent my 7 years in education serving the students of Richardson ISD. I have worked with all types of students at the 10th grade level, and I have spread my wings the last few years dabbling in AP Lang and AP Literature. Each year, my hope to affect change in students grows even greater. I hope that when students leave my classroom, they will have become more self-aware and self-reliant but will continuing learning how to empathize with others. It's a big task, but as I always say, I'm small, but mighty.
I look forward to serving the RHHS community!
