College Credit Plus Meeting
Ohio’s College Credit Plus can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. If a student is taking a college course from a public college or university, College Credit Plus is free. That means no cost for tuition, books, or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.
Strongsville City Schools has agreements with the following institutions: Cleveland State University, Cuyahoga Community College, Hiram College, Lake Erie College, Lakeland Community College, Lorain Community College, Kent State University, The University of Akron, and Youngstown State University. For specific courses, however, you can choose to take College Credit Plus courses from any college that offers a course that would benefit your future, which could include online courses.
Strongsville High School (SHS) will have a meeting on February 3rd and February 11th in the SHS Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is highly recommended for all students and parents who are interested in participating in this program. College Credit Plus is open to students in grades 7 – 12 who are deemed college-ready.
