Come to the Mummification Parlour
Come to get Prepared for the Afterlife
What we do
We mummify your closest friends and family. We take pride in our work here at the Mummification Parlour as we are the top mummification business in the Netherlands. We have won the Golden Embalming Award once and are hoping to win it again with your support.
Our Methods
First, we would take the body to a room known as 'ibu' or the 'place of purification'. There we would wash the body with good-smelling palm wine and rinse it with water collected from the Nile.
Then one of us would take the body and cut a small slit in it on the left side. From that slit we would take out many of the internal organs. The liver, lungs, stomach and intestines are washed and packed into nitron (which will dry them out). The heart in not taken out of the body because it is the personality of the body and it will be needed in the afterlife. Then a long hook is used to smash the brain and pull it out, this is all done through the nose.
Then the whole body is covered in natron, this will dry the whole body out. We will then wait forty days. After forty days has gone the body will then be washed in water collected from the Nile. It is then covered in oil to keep the skin elastic.
The body is then wrapped in linen and the internal organs are stored in canonic jars.
