How to properly hit a softball.
The Basics.
Weight needs to be 50/50. (If they cut you in half your weight should be equal.)
Weight should be more on your toes. (Don't sit back on heels)
Bend knees(Does not have to be bent much)
Back elbow needs to be up. (Back shoulder higher than front, NOT BY A BUNCH.)
Knuckles need to be lined up.
NEGATIVE MOVEMENT. (Timing for the pitch)
If you take a step, don't over do it. Just a little step can go along ways, even just picking your foot up and then just setting it back down works.
Drive hands toward the ball. (Act like you are throwing your bat towards the ball.)
Use your hips. That's where you get your power.
Back leg should be turned and look like you're sitting in a chair.
Back foot should be up on the balls of your feet.
Front leg straight and towards the pitcher.
FOLLOW THROUGH. (If I'm in the opposite dugout I should be able to read the back of your shirt.)
