Weekly News Letter
March 21, 2015
Dear Parents:
Now that Spring break is over, we have eight short weeks left until the end of the school year! I just wanted to give you an update on what will be happening the next few weeks.
On Tuesday, March 22, you are welcome to come and have lunch with your child in the lunchroom from 11 am until 11:30 am.
On Wednesday, March 23, your child will be taking State Assessments for Math and Reading. Please make sure they get plenty of rest the night before. Studies show that children who get at least 8-10 hours of sleep at night perform better at school than children who get less than 8 hours of sleep.
On Thursday, March 24, we will be having a special guest in our classroom. Ms. Wendell is a student teacher from Butler County Community College in Andover, and she will be conducting a lesson plan over Fiction and Non-fiction stories using the Magic School Bus stories.
Friday, March 25, there will be no school due to parent-teacher conferences. Your child should have brought home a slip of paper with your time listed. If this time will not work, or if you did not recieve your appointment time, please call the office at 620-951-0048 and set up a time that is better for you. We will begin at 10 am, and continue on until 7 pm, or until the last person is finished.
On Monday, March 28, we will be taking Spring pictures. There will be a class picture in the morning, followed by individual pictures. An envelope was sent home with your child last week. Please turn this in to the office before Monday, March 28, if you wish to purchase pictures for your child. You can make checks payable to USD #245.
On Thursday, March 31, our class will be taking a field trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo with the 5th Grade class. A permission slip will be coming home with your child later this week. Please make sure to sign it and return it to me along with a check for $8.00 to cover admission costs. Lunch is included in the price.
If you have any questions regarding this newsletter, or questions or concerns regarding your child's progress, please do not hesitate to get ahold of me. I can be reached at jocha1@butlercc.edu. I will be happy to assist you in any way I can. Your child's success is my biggest priority!
Have a great week!
Ms. Rehmert
