February 12 - 16
What a week! Thank you to everyone who participated, helped or came to watch the Talent Show on Tuesday. We were so proud of our amazing knights and thankful for the opportunity to appreciate the many talents of our school.
Many of our intermediate students had a great time on the slopes of Calabogie on Thursday. They made us proud with their polite and respectable behaviour on the bus, on the hill and restaurants. Thank you to Mr. Kyte, Ms. Morrisey, Mr. Nickel and Ms. Clapp for organizing this opportunity.
A few notes for the week ahead:
Chess Club started this week for Grade 6-8 students and will take place every Day 2 at second recess. Depending on interest, this club may be opened to younger students as well. Week one was a hit!
Term 1 Report Cards will be coming home this week. These reports cards will give you an overview of how your student is doing to meet the Provincial Standard in all subjects. There have been some changes to how Language gets reported on (see graphic below).
Please make sure you reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions.
This week the Sr. boys have an exhibition game after school on Tuesday, at Bath vs.Colin's Bay (4:00), and the Girl's have an exhibition game on Thursday at Bath vs. Acadie (3:45). Both teams will play in their respective tournaments on February 20th. Go Knights Go!
Kindergarten registration is now open. If you have younger children at home or know any future Knights, encourage them to register and join this wonderful school community.
Looking forward to another great week ahead!

Welcome to Kindergarten!
Welcome to Kindergarten! This is an exciting time for both you and your student. Kindergarten is a wonderful experience and your student’s next phase on their journey of learning.
We are now accepting new student registrations for this September 2024. If your student is four or five by the end of December, now is the time to register.
Kindergarten offers a wonderful new world of learning and growing. We learn how to read, how to write and we make new friends. At [insert school name], our Kindergarten program helps children get the best possible start in school. Your student will be challenged and encouraged to do their very best.
In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator work together as a team. This partnership helps to create a nurturing learning environment; giving every student the opportunity to learn in the way that is best suited to their individual strengths and needs. Our caring team of educators is with them every step of the way!
We are excited to announce that Limestone District School Board will now be accepting applications for open boundary Kindergarten registrations for the upcoming school year. LDSB encourages students to attend their area school, but we understand selecting the right educational setting for your new student is a significant decision. In accordance with Board policy, by default, students will be enrolled in the school designated within their boundary area, based on their home address.
Students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. The Board will not be held responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. We typically welcome new families to orientation events in May. We will share more about these opportunities soon. We want everyone to see themselves in Limestone. You can feel confident your student will be cared for in a safe and inclusive environment.
We are committed to supporting you every step of the way. Our dedicated staff are here to assist you throughout this process. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the school.
CHOICES at 7 Programs:
Dear Families of Grade 6 and Grade 7 Students,
We would like to provide you with information about the Application Process for the LDSB
Choices at 7 Programs for the 2024-25 School Year. You can find updated Choices at 7
Information on the Board website, www.limestone.on.ca under the Programming tab. Once
there, you will learn about about the application process, dates for applying, FAQ’s, etc. for the
following programs: Extended French Immersion, ATLAS, LEAP and Challenge. Questions
regarding the programs can be emailed to the registrars
In order to follow the LDSB concussion protocol, and in an abundance of caution, any time a student takes a blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body that transmits a force to the head, we must suspect a concussion, Form 142-1 Tool to Identify a Suspected Concussion will be completed, and parents will be contacted.
If after a bump to the head, if your child exhibits one or more worrisome signs or symptoms, parents will also be asked to complete Form 142-4 Documentation of Medical Examination indicating that their child is symptom free and able to “return to learn” and then to “return to physical activity,” 24 hours later.
Should your student be diagnosed with a concussion, please alert the school right away, and complete and return the below documents to the school:
Form 142C4 Documentation for a Diagnosed Concussion - Return to Learn/Return to Physical Activity Steps 2a-6 (this is a process and will take time to work through between school and home)
We take suspected concussions/diagnosed concussions very seriously and we appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of your student. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
Tis the season for bus cancellations....As the weather gets colder, families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account.
Bath School Advisory Council
