A Note From Mrs. Aynesworth

August 8, 2022

Dear AES Families,

I am so excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! For those of you who are returning to us, I can hardly wait to see you and for those of you who are brand new to the Alamos family, I can't wait to me you! I so hope the joys of summer vacation have hugged your heart, lifted your spirit and you are ready for a wonderful start to the school year! Get Ready. Get Set. BUILD!

“Let Us BUILD Them Up” continues to frame our “heart-working" vision for our new school year. As we open our doors on the heels of a pandemic, we aspire to BUILD our kids up so they are ready to catapult forward with courage and confidence! In the word B U I L D, each letter represents an important building block of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development. We want to BUILD up our students up to be: Brave, Unique, Independent, Limitless and Disciplined! At Alamos, Legos are our inspirational representation of BUILDing and connecting through play. It is my hope that our students are anxiously awaiting the launch of the 2022-2023 school year and are eager for the BUILDing to begin!

Alamos Elementary School is an asset-building school that prides itself on academic excellence while instilling in children a love for learning. The FISH Philosophy continues to inspire our students to embrace others, recognize and appreciate differences and be personally invested in our school community. If BUILDing each up is our WHAT then certainly The FISH Philosophy is our HOW. AES is a “school” of FISH, and together we will...BE THERE, PLAY, MAKE THEIR DAY, and CHOOSE OUR ATTITUDE!

Our first official day of school is Monday, August 15th. Please note that August 15th is a modified day. Our Tk-5 students are dismissed at 12:55 p.m. and our preschool students are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Please be aware of the new start and dismissal times for all elementary schools in TVUSD. A regular school day starts at 8:50 a.m. and concludes at 3:15 p.m. A Modified Wednesday starts at 8:50 a.m. and concludes at 12:55 p.m. Our Preschool start and dismissal times have NOT changed. Our two sessions are 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Parents, please be sure to fill out the “Required Family-Annual Update” on Infinite Campus. This must be completed before August 8th in order to see your student’s teacher assignment for the 2022-23 school year. We so appreciate your support!

Please check your email! You will be able to see your student’s teacher assignment through Infinite Campus on Wednesday, August 10th after 4 p.m.

At AES, we truly value our school families and their contribution to our educational community. It is our hope to make the time you and your child spend at AES, the very best. Our commitment to providing an OVER the TOP service experience is the little bit of extra we do every day to make the ordinary, EXTRAORDINARY! If you should have any questions, concerns, and/or suggestions, please do not hesitate to share them.

I wish you and your family a delightful start to the 2022-2023 school year!

Let Us BUILD Them Up!

Student Supply List

Many parents are asking for a supply list/teacher donation request. Below are print-friendly PDF links for each grade level supply list. These are items the teachers would appreciate being donated, they are per grade level and teachers may send home an additional list of class-specific items after the first day of school. This is an optional donation.
