The Three Properties of magnets
Magnets have three different properties. They attract iron materials or objects than contain iron, magnets attract or repel other magnets, and magnets also point North when they swing freely. A magnetic force is produced when two magnetic poles interact
Magnetic Fields
A magnetic field is the area of magnetic force around the field lines. The distance is determined by the strength of a magnetic field. Which means, the closer together, the stronger they are. The farther apart, the weaker they get.
Magnetic poles
Magnets have two ends. These ends are called the North and South pole. Two different poles attract, like the North and South Pole, but two of the same poles repel. like a North and and North pole.
Magnetic domains
Magnetism is affected by domains if the material is magnetized or magnetized. the domains in the object are jumbled up making it magnetized. When you rub it with a magnet, the domains line up making it a temporary magnet.
Extra Inforamation
- The inside of an atom is called a nucleus
- The magnets are strongest at the poles
- All domains align
