Read Aloud 1-2-3 Magic Tree House
The Mid-Continent Public Library is sponsoring us with a program called, "Read Aloud 1-2-3." Your child brought home a book mark entry form showing that he/she has already read 1 of the 2 required books. To participate, you read a second chapter book at home, mark it on the entry form, and take it to your nearest library. At this time you will get a free Magic Tree House book!
Reading, Writing, & Arithmetic
Here a few highlights from this week's learning goals...
- Readers Workshop: We are learning to draw conclusions. This means we have been practicing using what we know and what we see to figure out what is happening in the story... even if the author did tell us.
- Writers Workshop: We are continuing to work on opinions that, "change the world." The students are writing about things like bullying, pet adoption, and eating healthy.
- Math: We are continuing to focus on addition facts and have began learning about characteristics of shapes. We have learned triangle, square, hexagon, trapezoid, and rhombus.
