A Message from the Principal

Imagine-Chancellor students and staff continue to demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity and love of learning. Each and every day, Imagine-Chancellor students show their compassion and kindness for others within their community to promote positive change. These actions make me confident our students WILL make a DIFFERENCE in this world.

Students are working hard to achieve their goals by engaging in lessons, activities, and projects to expand their knowledge and skills. I am incredibly proud of the products of work students are producing to demonstrate their increased level of skills in all academic areas.

I greatly appreciate your dedication and support to ensure we remain Imagine-Chancellor STRONG! One School. One Vision. One Family. Looking forward to continued success throughout this school year!

With great appreciation,

Ms. Standley

Food Service Update

Imagine-Chancellor will undergo a data collection in April to determine eligibility for the state-funded program that affords all of our students’ free breakfast and lunch for the upcoming school year. For this data collection, we must provide them with paper-based free/reduced lunch applications. Although our families completed the online application for this school year, we must have all families who have previously completed an application OR still want to complete an application complete a paper-based application.

All families will need to complete a paper application even if you have been approved this school year through the following:

· SNAP, TANF, WIC, Medicaid

· Received approval by the school for free or reduced

We ask that all paper applications are submitted to the school no later than March 31st, 2023.

The paper-based Free and Reduced Lunch Program application is attached for all families. We strongly encourage all families needing food assistance to apply for the free and reduced lunch program. Please complete the attached paper application no later than March 31st, 2023.

We greatly appreciate your attention and cooperation to this matter.

If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact foodaccounts@imagine-chancellor.com

Safety Patrol Trip to Washington DC

Recently our 22/23 Imagine-Chancellor Safety Patrols visited our nation's capital to learn about the history of the United States and experience various monuments, memorials, museums, and branches of government. It was an outstanding experience for all of our students and chaperones. Below is a video of our Safety Patrols presenting a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Celebrating Black History Month

Throughout the month of February, students learned about African-American leaders who have positively impacted our society through numerous areas such as health, government, invention, sports, music, acting, and much more. Below is a link of our students sharing what they learned.

Great Appreciation for our Outstanding PTSA

Imagine-Chancellor is extremely fortunate to have a dedicated and supportive PTSA. This outstanding group of parents have supported our school to ensure we have what we need for continued success. Recently they supported our Boosterthon and decorated our front office to welcome everyone with positive messages and brighten our entrance. Thank you!

High Ridge Landing Apartment Complex Student Drop Off and Pickup NOT PERMITTED

Students are not permitted to be dropped off and/or picked up in the High Ridge Landing Apartment Complex property. If your child is a car rider you are required to go through the car line. If they are a walker, the apartment complex IS NOT an option for pickup. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Handicap Parking Spots

Please ensure handicap parking spots are not used for drop off or pickup of students. These spots are designated for those with handicap permits. If you do not have a permit, please use available parking spots for drop off and pick up. Thank you for your cooperation.

Visitor Policy

All visitors must provide government issued ID to enter the school building. Visitors will be issued a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. When exiting the building, all visitors must check out and turn in their visitor badge.

Breakfast/Lunch Account Access

If your child has an outstanding balance, you can load money into your child’s lunch account at https://www.slalunch.com. All parents need to create accounts to be able to access their students’ transaction histories and add funds. You can also load money into your child’s account by bringing in cash or writing a check payable to Imagine-Chancellor with your child’s name listed in the Memo section. Daily menu options are featured on our website via the Parent Information Hub.

Student Tardiness

Student achievement is of utmost importance at Imagine-Chancellor. Teachers must maximize instructional minutes to promote student learning success. Tardies are a major disruption to the learning environment and student learning. Students miss extremely important intervention/enrichment time. Additionally, learning stops while the tardy student settles into his/her seat.

Student tardies continue to be a problem. We strongly encourage families to ensure their child(ren) are setup for success each morning by arriving to school on time. The instructional day starts at 8:30 am. Therefore, it is expected for all students to be in their seat ready to learn at this time. We appreciate your support in this matter.

Helpful Hint: Morning arrival car lines have extremely little to no traffic between 8:00-8:15 am.

Daily Arrival Procedures

Students who are enrolled in before care will be able to enter the campus daily from 7:15-7:45 am off of High Ridge Road. Parents will receive special car tags to identify as before care students.

  • All students will use hand sanitizer prior to entering the building.

  • Access to the school off High Ridge Road will not be accessible from 7:45 am-8:45 am.

  • Parents who are not enrolled in before care will enter the campus off of Miner Rd following traffic down Imagine Way. Gates will be open to all students at 7:50 am each morning.

  • All other students will not be permitted to enter campus prior to 7:50 am.

Dismissal Procedures

Staggered dismissal times will remain the same:

K-2- 3:00 pm

3rd-5th- 3:15 pm

6th-8th- 3:30 pm

Dismissal Sides

K-2: South side of the school

K-8 students with siblings: South side of the school

3rd-8th students without siblings: North side of the school

· All students will remain in their classroom during dismissal

· PikMyKid will be utilized as our dismissal program

· Parents must check-in using the PikMyKid app or provide the designated staff member the assigned dismissal number for their child(ren). Please place your PikmyKid dismissal tag on your rear view mirror or dashboard for staff to easily see.

· Gates will be open to all students at dismissal times. Dismissal traffic will flow down Imagine Way (back road off of Miner Rd) and onto north or the south side of the campus based off your child(ren)'s designated side.

· If you have multiple children in different grade levels, please come at the oldest child’s release time to pick up all of your children on the SOUTH SIDE of the school.

· Please do not come earlier than your child’s assigned dismissal time. Parents that have children in grades 3-8 that come early will be directed to go around and come back at their assigned time.

The updated Free and Reduced Lunch Program application is attached for all families. We strongly encourage all families needing food assistance to apply for the free and reduced lunch program. Please complete the attached paper application or complete the online application and return to the school as soon as possible. The threshold for qualification changes from time to time and even if you have been denied in the past, you may qualify now. Once you have completed the application, we will notify you of the status of your application once processed. If your child qualifies for free/reduced lunch, this will be honored for the 22/23 school year. If you have already submitted your application for the 22/23 school year, there is no need to complete another application.
