Community Connections | Wednesday, September 18 - 6:00 - 7:30 pm, 5th & Court Street
The Beatrice Police Department is hosting the annual 2019 Community Connection event on Wednesday, September 18th on 5th Street between Court and Ella Streets from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The goal once again is to bring law enforcement, schools, social services and community together and provide a fun night to the all ages in the community. In the past years they have collected the Community Connections forms from the public which provides the communication center (911 Center) with any information regarding any special needs or medical issues people in our community may have. This allows them to have information ahead of time if the individual calls the communication center for an emergency. The information they provide is confidential and voluntary.
Your 4-H club is invited to have a table with a fun activity at the event. This is a great opportunity to promote your group! If interested please contact Kerri McGrury at kmcgrury@beatrice.ne.gov or 402-228-5270 by September 6.

National 4-H Week | October 6-12
National 4-H Week is right around the corner! This year's celebration will take place October 6-12. Start planning your celebration now! Here's some ideas:
· Plan a community service project, like picking up trash in your community!
· Write Thank You cards to 4-H staff and volunteers who you know.
· Wear a different 4-H shirt each day of the week.We recognize over 400 families in Gage County, the time donated by all our volunteer leaders, the fantastic support of hundreds of businesses and organizations across the county, and many others for countless ways you support 4-H youth. We work with the greatest people in the state of Nebraska!
TSC Paper Clover Campaign | October 9-20
There’s many ways to support Nebraska 4-H, including the in-store fall fundraiser - Paper Clover Campaign - at our local Tractor Supply Store. Stop by the store, pick up supplies, and fill out/donate $1.00 or more... it’s as simple as that. A portion of all proceeds benefit Nebraska 4-H. Thank you in advance.

NOTES TO 4-H MEMBERS
Career Portfolio & Achievement Application - Due October 1
The fair is over, the excitement settled, and it’s time for 4-H members to record your accomplishments for the year. October 1 is right around the corner - the time to submit your Career Portfolio and Achievement Application. No project records required. We want to recognize all youth for your achievements.
- County-level: Career Portfolio and/or Junior Achievement Application (ages 8-14), Senior Achievement Application (ages 15-18) may be submitted
- State Level: New for 2019 - Nebraska 4-H will ONLY accept Senior Achievement Applications.
The 4-H Council will award $2.00 per member to clubs whose membership has 100% completion of the forms turned in to the Extension Office by October 1. All names on your club membership printout are included.
Click the link below for Gage County Awards & Recognition information including: Career Portfolio, Achievement Application & Gage County 4-H Awards Application. All materials are also available at the Extension Office.
Diamond Clover Program - Reports Due October 1
Everyone needs and deserves to be recognized. We hope 4-H members will get involved and get recognized. We suggest that each club adopt this as a club goal and work on each member achieving one level per year. Basically, the requirements are things 4-H members are already accomplishing. Why not recruit one parent/leader or team to carry out the program for your club. It’s the perfect time to set up teen/youth mentors - older youth teaming with younger members. The six levels have an age designation; youth start at your current 4-H age. Achieve one level/ year; turn in report form October 1. Your club is encouraged to set up a recognition of your members who achieve Diamond Clover levels. Certificates are awarded at the annual fall Achievement program.
