Roasting
Roasting is usually done by an oven or over an open fire; its very dry and hot.
Some foods that are generally roasted (in the oven) would be
- Chickens
- Veggies such as potatoes
Some foods roasted over fires would be
- Hot dogs
- Marshmallows (for s'mores)
- Sandwiches
- Bacon

Steaming
Steaming is when you have food products being cooked by hot water vapor. Usually you have boiling water and something to hold the food above it, a lot of times its done in a closed container/ pot.
Some equipment recommended would be a steamer.
Foods that are generally cooked by steaming would be
- Vegetables
- Leafy Greens
- Chicken
- Shell fish
- Salmon

How to Steam Vegetables
The VS
Some differences would be
- with roasting its cooked right on the heat, while steaming the food is above the source.
- Steaming might be a little bit quicker depending on what you cook
Some similarities would be
- you can cook vegetables (and many other foods) with both
- both taste good if done right
