Strength-Based Interviews: 1200-1300
Strength-based interviews are becoming increasingly popular among graduate employers. They are designed to understand both what energises and motivates you, as well as what you do well. Come along to a workshop hosted by FDM Group and gain employer insight into why we use strength-based interview questions and how you can prepare successfully.

Looking for a graduate job? Want a head-start in the selection process? Come along to an interactive workshop hosted by FDM Group that equips you with the skills and confidence to excel in Video Interviews. We aim to give you an insight into what a video interview entails, how you can prepare, and why they are becoming a popular recruitment tool used by many graduate employers.

Thursday 8 February
Careers in Science Communication: 1730-1900
What are they? This event will feature a range of alumni who work in the area of “science communication”. Lewis Dean (alum of 2011) is a senior Policy Manager for Public Engagement with Research for the RCUK while also being a stand-up comic on the side, Lara Bennet is Medical Writer for Comradis Ltd as well as previously working as a Science Communication Officer for Cancer Research UK, Emma Dixon an alumni works at Dundee Science Centre. Mhairi Stewart (Head of Public Engagement with Research) and Katrina Falkenberg (Science Communication for Biology Research) who work at the University of St Andrews will also be presenting. They will be discussing what their roles entail and how they got where they are today. The talks will be followed by a Q&A session.

Friday 9 February
Wildlife Filming - featuring alumni on Blue Planet 2: 1715-1800
Two alum Amy Thompson (graduate from 2014) currently working for Blast Films on the Channel series “Secret Life of the Zoo” and Sarah Conner (graduate 2004) Edit Producer/Assistant Producer at BBC Blue Planet 2). The University is very lucky to have these two alumni travel up to St Andrews to share their experiences and advice on breaking into this area.
A one hour talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
