Have a great week!

Katie Booth, Principal

A Message from Mrs. Booth

We are so excited to welcome our students back into a newly remodeled school building!! Teachers have been busy unpacking and getting their classrooms ready for the new school year. The excitement of a new school year in a newly remodeled building is off the charts! We can't wait for our families to see the building during Open House later in September.

During the first couple of weeks of school our teachers' main focus will be on building classroom community and learning procedures. Getting back into a routine is essential. Children thrive from routine, and that lack of routine can lead to anxiety and stress. Our teachers know many of our students have not been in a traditional classroom setting in over a year. Taking the time to during the first week to get to know students, build new routines, and establish trust is imperative. Without these things it will be difficult for our students to learn new academic information.

I am so very excited to start this school year with you. I know it's going to be an amazing year!

I am looking forward to Tuesday!

Katie Booth

PS - We already know drop-off and pick-up will be a bit more congested and hectic these first few weeks of school. I appreciate your patience and grace as we work together to ensure our students arrive and leave safely.

Welcome Back from our Silver Springs Staff!

Annual Online Registration

All new and returning families: It's time to fill out your required online Annual Registration!

Every year, all families are required to fill out the digital Annual Registration for each student. Families may complete these forms through Parent Connection: https://sisweb.resa.net/Northville/ParentPortal.

Through this process you will be asked to update your student’s emergency contact information, home address and health information, review our technology use policy and student handbooks, learn more about PTSA/PTA, access the web store and much more.

Need Help?

Many of the most commonly asked questions can be found on our FAQs page (located in the upper right hand corner of Parent Connection.) If you have further questions, please email the helpdesk at parentportal@northvilleschools.org.

All elementary students must have the Annual Registration completed prior to the start of school on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Silver Springs Return to School Plan for Families

To help you understand our procedures for returning to school this year, this was created to provide you awareness of the many things we are doing this year to keep our students safe. This is also something that you could share with your child(ren) as well!

We hope that you find it helpful!

NEW Arrival and Dismissal Procedures this year!

The carpool lane will now be the lane that uses the upper parking lot next to the gym and the bus lane will be the loop in the front of the school.

Please click here for a map of the arrival and dismissal locations.

Video: Arrival and Dismissal Video

Students will be allowed in the building at 8:40 a.m.

Please do not drop your student off prior to 8:35 a.m.

Masks are strongly encouraged outside during drop-off and pick-up times.

While our area remains in a high transmission rate, all good-byes must take place outside the school building. All parents and visitors during the school day are limited to where students are not present.

  • Students that arrive by car will enter the building through the gym doors and proceed directly to their classrooms.

How to use the Carpool Lane Safely:

  • When dropping off your student, pull all the forward in the lane.

  • Adults stay in the car.

  • Your student will exit the car on the passenger side.

    • There will be adults to help open the car door if needed.

  • Once your student has exited the car, please continue moving.

  • Students that walk to school will enter the building through the gym doors.

  • Students that arrive on the school bus will enter the building through the main entrance of the school.

Carpool Reminders

For the safety of our students we need to bring awareness to the proper use or "etiquette" of the carpool drop off lane. Parents it is for everyone's benefit that we need everyone to follow these instructions. Also, please do not get upset when staff enforce carpool etiquette.

  1. Pull ALL THE WAY forward to the front of the carpool lane before dropping children off or picking children up.
  2. Try to stay BUMPER TO BUMPER in the carpool lane, don’t leave space between cars
  3. Adults stay in the car and Staff will help if students need assistance opening the door.

Bus Assignments

COVID Safety and Mitigation Plans

As we come together in learning this year, it is important to remember to perform at-home self-monitoring using the COVID-19 Daily Student Symptom Screening Tool. This screener serves as a daily reminder that children who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (or ANY illness) need to stay home from school. This is an important measure that will help prevent or reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in using this screener each school day. In addition to the daily screener students and staff are required to wear masks while indoors.
Big picture
The NPS 2021-22 COVID-19 General Mitigation Response Plan outlines the multiple layers of COVID-19 safety measures being implemented across the district to support the health and safety of all students and staff. School principals will share specific building procedures with families. Processes are in place at each school to teach and/or reinforce safety measures with all students. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document answers additional questions you may have as you and your child are preparing for the start of the 2021-22 school year.

and learn — that means fundraising, educating parents, helping teachers/staff,

advocating for legislation to ensure every child gets a high-quality education, and

our PTA to show commitment and support to our PTA and all the things we provide for

Silver Springs.

Invest In Your Child
