If your scholarship application requires a recommendation letter/nomination/verification from school counselors or school administration, please submit all required documents to Coach Stevens or Mrs. Morris at least one week prior to the deadline.

Children of Deaf Adults, International


Purpose: To assist hearing children of deaf parents to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities.

Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and the hearing children of deaf parents. Applicants must submit a transcript, letters of recommendation and essay. Essays should describe applicants' Coda experience and future career goals.

Amount: $3,000.

Purpose: To support students interested in careers in printing and graphic communication.

Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors, graduates or students at two- or four-year colleges. They must be full-time students and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The application deadline for high school students is March 1, and the deadline for college students is April 1.

Purpose: To support students with cystic fibrosis.

Eligibility: Applicants must be current or entering graduate or undergraduate students at an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning. They must be U.S. citizens, and they must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher. Selection criteria include scholastic achievement, character, leadership, community service, service to cystic fibrosis-related causes and financial need.

Amount: $1,000-$2,500.

Purpose: To help African American high school seniors attend college.

Eligibility: Applicants must plan to attend college full-time, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have unmet financial need that is verified by the college or university financial aid office. UNCF students are encouraged to complete the UNCF General Scholarship application to be matched with scholarships for which they meet the criteria.

Purpose: To assist minority students in becoming clinical laboratory scientists and clinical laboratory technicians.

Young Women in Public Affairs Fund

Zonta International


Purpose: To encourage young women to participate in politics and public service.

Eligibility: Applicants must be pre-college women between the ages of 16 and 20. District award winners receive at least $1,000, and international award winners receive $3,000. Selection is based on volunteerism, volunteer leadership and dedication to "advancing the status of women worldwide." Club deadlines vary. The April 1 deadline is the date by which applications must be received by the District Governor.

AFL-CIO Skilled Trades Exploring Scholarship

Explorers Learning for Life


Purpose: To assist explorers in obtaining an education that will help them start a career in skilled trades.

Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating seniors who plan to attend an accredited public or proprietary institution or a union apprentice program. They must provide three recommendations and a 500-word essay.

Amount: $1,000.

Number of awards: 2.

Deadline: April 30.

Harness Horse Youth Foundation



Purpose: To support students who are interested in harness racing.

Eligibility: Students must demonstrate financial need, and they must be at least in their senior year of high school. Applicants must submit an essay and two letters of reference.
