Tiger Feedback
November 3, 2023
It is extremely important for educators to vote, especially if you live in our District. This School Board election is critical to the trajectory of our District moving forward. Early voting ends today and then we have election day on Tuesday, November 7.
Also, please follow the Special Session at the State Legislature and communicate with your representatives about funding Public Education.
We are not telling you who to vote for, we are just encouraging you to get out the vote!
Celebrations
We had a great time with our Preschooler for their Trick or Treating at The Park! They are so cute! Special thanks to Cindy Fitchel, our Daycare Director, for working with our little ones, our Tigers, and parents!
Many of our courses have had District Progress Monitoring (DPM) assessments. As you know we are a data-driven organization and we wanted to share with our Tiger Family the quality outcomes of our student performance on the DPMs. The data reflects the hard work and effort of our Tiger Teachers, ICS Paras and our support staff. Let's continue to strive for excellence as our goals for comparative district data are:
- 1st in our Cluster
- Tie or beat the District Average
We also have reports from the First Marking Period. Here the percentage for each letter grade earned:
- A = 42%
- B = 31%
- C = 11%
- C- = 11%
- F = 6%
Your appraiser will be providing your specific Teacher report in the next few days. Your appraiser will be collaborating with you if your have more that 10% F's and/or if your total of F and C- equals 20% or higher. These conversations are designed to brainstorm and provide feedback on why some of our students are not performing at a C or higher.
We are excited about our data and look forward to building on these benchmarks!
Congratulations again!

For the volleyball program, this season was one that brought change, new coaches, new roles, new traditions, new events, new expectations, and new goals. Coach McFarlane began early in the summer transitioning into her new role as first time head coach, challenging athletes to put in the extra work over the summer at TIGER Camp. Many athletes amid family obligations and summer jobs made sure they were at every strength and conditioning session as well as open gym and SSI. Summer flew by after Freshmen Skills camp to welcome nearly 90 athletes for tryouts at the end of July. During the tournament season, for a first in program history, Varsity earned a spot in the Gold Bracket at the LCISD Battle of the Brazos Varsity Volleyball Invitational. Freshmen A also earned a position in the competitive Silver bracket of the CFISD tournament. The season brought on challenges that in the end made the team cohesive and playing for a common goal versus individual achievement. The Tiger Varsity volleyball team ended up a stand-alone 6th place with 4 district wins, unmatched by a prior season! We are excited about what our Tigers accomplished this season. Congratulations Coach T. McFarlane and the Volleyball Coaching Staff!
The Cy Park Speech and Debate Team displayed Tiger excellence at the recent competition held at Atascocita High School. Our talented team not only showcased their exceptional skills but also demonstrated the true spirit of perseverance and dedication. Our team emerged triumphant, with 5 making it to the semifinals and two advancing to finals. In the dramatic interpretation category, Ivan Carranza (a novice) exhibited tremendous skill and passion, earning a well-deserved 6th place. But the excitement doesn't end there! We're thrilled to announce that Nicole Lee secured an impressive 3rd place in dramatic interpretation. Congratulations once again to the Cy Park Speech and Debate Team. Let's continue to rise up, take courage and do it in the competitions that lie ahead! Congratulations Ms. Raley and Ms. Brice!

Campus Reminders
Wednesday 11.8.23 - CommUnity Time Bell Schedule
When we return from our two days off with Campus Time Equivalency, we will be on CommUnity Time schedule. The CommUnity Time lesson has already been emailed to our Teachers.
Common Practice
We are asking for specific attention be paid in our Common Practices:
- Limit students leaving the classroom for any reason. Use the restroom passes wisely.
- Apply the 10/10 Rule. No students in the hall the first or last 10 minutes of the period.
It takes us all doing our part to make our campus operate in a safe and smooth manner daily!
Thank you in advance in addresses these challenges!
