Assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.
How do we determine who needs to quarantine?
When we have a positive case reported, we pull seating charts and attendance records. Students who are seated within 6 feet of the positive case are the first to be contacted to quarantine. More students may need to quarantine depending on multiple variables, some examples would be: if the students were interactive in a classroom, the positive case was in class multiple days while contagious, or if more than one student in the class was positive and in attendance on the same days.
Our school district follows the recommendations of the local COVID Command Team, which is made up of representatives from Blue Earth county, Nicollet county, Mayo, Mankato Clinic, MDH and our school district. This team continues to recommend the 14 day quarantine.
Please continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, and get the vaccine when you can. We are not out of the woods yet, and we are all in this together!
2021 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment testing will be conducted based on the cohort the student is in, In-Person or Distance Learning. We will not have cross cohort interaction for MCA testing.
In-Person students will complete the Mathematics (Gd. 11) & Reading (Gd. 10) Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments on April 20 & 22. Sophomores and Juniors will test from 8:45-10:45am. Sophomores and juniors who normally ride the bus to school will be picked up at their normal bus time.
Due to testing we will use a two-hour late start schedule (see below) on April 20 & 22 for Periods 1-7, with classes beginning at 10:45 am. 9th and 12th grade students who ride the bus will be picked up two hours later than their normal bus pick up time as the bus companies will be running a second tier of bussing on these testing dates.
MCA Science tests will be completed in Biology classes the week of April 26th for In-Person students.
Distance Learning Students
Distance Learners will complete MCA testing on Wednesday, April 21. Sophomores will complete the MCA Reading exam in the morning. Juniors will complete the MCA Mathematics exam in the morning, have lunch, and then complete the MCA Science exam in the afternoon. All 10th and 11th grade Distance Learners need to complete the following form by Sunday, April 11th to help us prepare for testing.
