FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK:
Good Afternoon OIS Families,
I hope that you and your family are having an awesome summer and hopefully getting geared up for the 22-23 school year.
Can you believe the start of school is almost here? Summer always seems to go by so quickly. My family took some time to relax and enjoy creating those fun summer memories.
The beginning of the school year is always my favorite time. I get to welcome all of our new 5th graders and get to see some familiar faces in 6th grade. I can't wait to hear our hallways buzzing with all of our excited teachers and students. It is going to be a great year!!
Each week I will send out a newsletter with important information and tidbits on what is happening on campus.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. You can email me at sararush@tomballisd.net
I look forward to seeing you and all of our Wildcats very soon!
Annual Enrollment
Each year, Tomball ISD parents are required to update Annual Enrollment information for each child registered in Tomball ISD. These updates provide critical student information, such as Guardians, Emergency Contacts, and Medical Information, allowing the district to respond appropriately in case of emergencies. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS INFORMATION COMPLETED.
Bus Registration
All students who intend to utilize Tomball ISD bus service MUST register in order to ride the bus before and/or after school. Bus registration is completed during annual enrollment as linked above.
Schedule Pick Up AUGUST 12th
Schedule Pick up will be held at Oakcrest on Friday August 12th. This is a time to pick up your child's schedule, walk the campus, and sign up for PTO.

CAR RIDER LINE:
We have many students who come and go to school via the car rider line. Our goal at OIS is to quickly and efficiently take in/load out as many students as safely possible with parents having to wait the least amount of time in the car rider line!
Our car rider line is in the front of the campus and we have several staff members and bright orange cones guiding the way.
Please ensure that you only drop-off/pick-up your child off when you are in the drop-off/pick-up zone of the car rider line. The drop-off/pick-up zone is the side walk that is in front of the school (span of 10 vehicles at a time drop off in shifts). Please pull forward as far as possible (following the direction of staff members on duty) before having your child exit or enter the vehicle. Please ensure your child understands that they must exit and enter on the passenger side closest to the sidewalk.
The bus lane to the left that runs perpendicular to the front drive is NOT to be used to drop off car riders. This area is for special transportation buses and students with special needs.
The parking lot is NOT to be utilized as a drop-off or pick-up zone for the safety of our students. All car riders are dropped off/picked-up through the car rider line only.
As always please be mindful during drop off and pick up times of bikers and walkers. There is a crosswalk at the entrance of the front drive and students frequent this area in the mornings before school and after school.
The first few weeks will be slower but we will all get the hang of it and the line will start to flow.
RIGHT TURN ONLY WHEN EXITING FRONT DRIVE:
In the mornings and afternoons during student drop-off and pick-up, we require that all cars make a RIGHT TURN ONLY out of the front drive of the school. This ensures that there is no cross traffic on Shaw Rd.
Having to cross traffic to exit the parking lot slows down the exit of vehicles in the front drive and causes congestion in the car rider line. It is also very dangerous for students trying to cross over as the walk or bike to school.
While we understand that everyone's time is valuable, student safety is our main priority.
CLINIC:
If your child will require medication administration during school hours, please note that all prescriptions must have a written/signed order from a medical doctor licensed in the state of Texas. Medication will not be administered without the correct documents.
Please contact the clinic in advance to drop off medication. Students should not sent to school with the medication. Please contact the OIS Nurse, Melanie Ellis, at 281-357-3033 EXT 5609 if you need to schedule a time to present documents and drop off medication for your child.
