Message From the Principal
I hope this message finds you doing well. This is the time of year when families start making plans for moving out of the Dieringer School District due to a new job, or wanting to be closer to family, or a number of other reasons people need to move. If you are planning on moving out of our area for next school year, please let our office staff know as soon as possible. They manage the data management system, and it helps them to know who is returning and who is not returning at the earliest time possible. Thank you in advance.
May 4 is the next spirit day--Star Wars Day--"May the 4th be with you." Kids and staff (and parents visiting school) can dress in their best Star Wars gear. We just ask that light sabers and ray guns, even when set to stun :) not attend with the student.
If your child is going to be absent from school, please notify our school office as soon as possible. That notification about an absence ahead of time truly helps our office staff stay on top of our attendance, and helps us all know that all students are accounted for. Thank you in advance.
The final nomination window for identification for HiCap for all current students opens on June 1 and closes on June 10th. The link will go live on our DSD website on June 1st. Teachers and parents may nominate and submit documents during this window. Evaluations will take place June 13-17th for all students who have completed nomination packets.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Pat Webster--Head Learner

Character Word For May -- Cooperation
During May, we will be focusing on the character word, "Cooperation."
Cooperation means working together to reach the same end or goal.
"What a child can do in cooperation today, he can do alone tomorrow."
Lve Vygotsky
"If there is not cooperation, it means that we don't understand one another."

DID YOU KNOW....
You also can see which books your student has checked out. If your student doesn't remember their username and password, you can still search. They can write down the title and bring it in on their library day, or email the title to me at gwaller@dieringer.wednet.edu.
Happy Reading!
