Message From The Principal

Hello Eagle families,

The Black Student Union at RVHS as been busy sharing a variety of activities and lessons recognizing a few of the many accomplishments of black Americans.

On Thursday during lunch, Ms. Miller, the district's CTE clerk, shared some of her story as a successful black woman with a classroom full of students. Her story includes a history of activism on behalf of many under represented or marginalized groups. Deputy Kennedy shared his experience serving as a black sheriff's deputy. The dialogue between the speakers and the students was rich and meaningful.

Think different. Be different.

Classroom Disruptions

Rancho Vista has been working hard to reduce student distractions in classrooms. We are enforcing our district's cell phone policy, that cell phones may only be used for instructional purposes and at the discretion of the teacher.

Students are put in a difficult situation when they receive a phone call from a parent during class time. This is not only a distraction for the student, built a disruption to the classroom. We respect the need for parents to communicate with their students, but please do not call during class times.

Black History Month

Our campus is an amazing example of diversity, and in further pursuit of our goals of cultural awareness, we would like to take this opportunity to get you thinking about Black History Month. Black History Month is meant to celebrate the history and influence of African American culture. Fun Fact: Did you know that ever Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month. At Rancho we embrace this tradition by celebrating the achievements of prominent African Americans with activities on campus throughout the month. Through these shared experiences we will build our awareness that Black History is American History!

Aiden Bravo

Aiden is a wonderful student and great to have in class. He always come to class ready to work and is very respectful of his peers. He stays very focused on whatever we are doing in class and always does quality work. It is students like Aiden that make RVHS such a great place!

Gavin Houghton

He is passing all his classes and he has already completed 3 Edgenuity classes this semester. He is VERY dedicated to making it to graduation!

Adan Sanchez

Adan should be student of the week for a number of reasons. First, he is always here! He shows up to classes, on time! Even 1st period. When he is in class he is never on his phone and really tries to stay on task and focused on the work at hand. He is also willing to accept help when needed. Keep up the good work Adan!
