October Update

The Hopeful Edge of Christianity

On September 24, I had the opportunity to experience a contrast that is at the nexus of the Christian culture and conversation in America. That contrast is between followers of Jesus who are approaching communities, cities and culture as the faithful opposition and those who are seeing these same spheres as places in which to engage and transform our world through actions and exchanges of thought.

These aren’t the only two options, but they are distinct and they call people to commit and engage in their Christian faith in very different ways. The thing that impressed me that day was the different tone of the meetings and the talks. The lunch hour gathering had a tone that felt desperate, fearful and with an edge of anger. The evening presentations, while addressing some of the most horrible and challenging problems we face, were infused with a determination and a hope that Christ - through activators - can change the world. As I sat in the evening meeting, it welled up in me – this event and the people here are the hopeful edge of Christianity. And, right there, I determined, again, that this hopeful edge is the place and the people for me.

Q Commons Sacramento

What a wonderful evening of connecting and thinking! Through bringing up local topics of fatherless, racism, and Biblical justice the room was buzzing with new perspectives and passions to advance good in our region. Here are some of the feedback comments:

"Excellent program & Speakers! Also inspirational - touched my heart as well as challenging my mind. Thank you!" - Annie Fish

"Great diversity of speakers & topics - glad we are having these discussions" - Eric Hanson

"All speakers were amazing!! Thank you! Keep it going. This is catalyst for doing good in Jesus' name!" - Larry Hill

We have seen again that Q Commons is part of the movement God is using to bring like-minded and hearted people together to engage the city and culture with the excellence, insight and wisdom that is so needed in our day. This is a sponsored event. If you know of any business who would like to help underwrite these kinds of events, contact us today.

Worship Prayer Healing, Sept. 20, 2015 Praise Report

“And He answered and said to them, ‘Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the Gospel preached to them. Blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.’” Luke 7:22-23

What is happening in the Sacramento Region can only be explained in and through Jesus Christ! God is with us! God is in us! God is for us! Let us rejoice in Him and seek Him and know Him and worship Him all the more because we have received greater revelation of Who He Is. This is an Isaiah 6 moment for the Sacramento Region…

- Judy Trent-Whitnack

The kingdom of darkness took a huge hit Sunday, September 20, 2015. Around 2400 people showed up to seek God. Eyes were opened, ears were opened, backs were straightened, at least 3 cases of stage 4 cancer were healed, freedom was received, marriage flames were relit, and that is just the beginning of the testimonies! Hallelujah! All glory to God!!

Please continue to pray for the next 40 days for those who were healed continue to walk in their healing and to draw closer to God and to give Him glory. Please also pray for the prayer team and anyone involved in planning the event or making it possible. Pray that there would be no retribution and that any weapons formed against them would not prosper and that the Lord would turn them into blessings!!

Every School Partnership: New Resources

We are excited to see a growing interest in the Every School Partnership throughout the region and want to help churches make the step towards engaging local schools by providing resources church representatives can use in their efforts. A series of videos from local voices about school partnerships have been uploaded to the Serve United website which you can access here. Below is one of these resource videos. Watch as Jeff Kreiser shares the vision of Every School Every Neighbor Initiative.

Financial Update & Partners Like You

I am often asked about what The ACTS Group does. With many initiatives and strategic organizations, it can be challenging to sum up what we actually do as a group of people who work together under The ACTS Group banner. It is best to look to our mission statement that says it straightforwardly: The ACTS Group exists to catalyze and mobilize united Christian initiatives until everyone has heard, understood, and had the opportunity to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But, how do we make such a statement become reality? By working together as a collective Group, sharing God’s word throughout our region. Whether it is through prayer, service, leadership, or sharing of the Gospel with your neighbor, every single one of us is called for a higher purpose and we each have the power to make a difference. Help us impact our region and become a partner with The ACTS Group by becoming a financial supporter. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or a church, we are God’s people doing together, what cannot be done alone.
