PARENT ADVISORY
Working together to improve students' school experiences...
On Thursday, 1/27, we held a Parent Advisory google meeting for an informal conversation about our school, the goals we are currently working on and our aspirations. Thank you to Mr. Lanza, Ms. Sylvester, Mrs. Shea, Ms. Gaston, Mrs. Glover, Mrs. Lesko and Mrs. Newman for participating.
It was a productive meeting whereby we reviewed the trajectory of the committee’s meetings since 2019, talked about this year’s goals and received parent feedback on what we could do to better connect families to our school.
Overwhelmingly, parents expressed an interest in activities that bring families physically back to the building. Ideas such as bingo night, grade level math/reading nights and outside concerts and events were mentioned. Programs designed to assist parents with students’ social and emotional needs was also an idea shared.
