A Peek into Mrs. Pineda's class

Working all Winter!

In fourth grade we have many students working hard and snow didn't even stop some. Many of our students worked over the Snowcation to create snazzy solar system projects! Below you can see some of the finished products.

This week in class:

Tuesday - Thursday we will be taking our benchmarks. These scores will be compared to the scores from the fall to check for growth.

Science - finishing simple machines

Reading - applying reading strategies to increase comprehension, focus on cause and effect

Language/Writing - properly responding to writing prompts and incorporating grammar skills

Spelling - adding a consonant suffix. Visit www.spellingcity.com for practice. Search for our class for the word list.

Math - Topic 9 division. Visit www.pearsonsuccessnet.com and log in. If your child does not recall his or her login and password, it will most likely be their lunch number and "abc123" as the password. There are a few exceptions. Some students must use their first initial and last name as their login.

Students should also continue recording their reading time of a minimum of 15 minutes each afternoon and turning their recorded times in every Friday with parent initials. I will send home reading logs but in the event your child's gets misplaced, you may record this in the agenda.
