Country Basics:
The country I have is named Kuwait. The capital of Kuwait is Kuwait City. Which is easy to remember because it has the word "Kuwait" in it. There flag is very unique. It has the colors red, white, green, and black. The stripes red, green, and white are vertical. And the black trapezoid shape is filled in on the left side horizontally. Red = Blood and courage of the soilders. Black = the defeat of enemies. White = Purity of deeds.
Green = Fertile land.
Countries that border Kuwait.

Economy:
What I have heard of is that Kuwait is a rich nation, it is a developed country. (GDP- $154.5 Billion) The kind of money they use is a little different then the U.S. The sub-unit is 1 KWD = 1000 fils ~Just like the Sub-Unit of a U.S. 1 bill = 100 Cents ~The Kuwait Dinar is the currency of Kuwait and is sub-divided into 1000 fils. The Kuwaiti Dinar is pegged to an undisclosed weighted basket of international currencies. It is the worlds highest valued currency unit. One of the main export is oil they ship oil (OPEC) to other countries. Although they are low on water so other countries import water to Kuwait.
- Life Expectancy = As of 2012 it is 74.36 Years
- Birth Rate = 2.63 Births per women (2012)
- Literacy Rate = Youth- 98.64 (Updated August 3 2012)
- Drinking Water Source = Most of the water supplied by the state comes from the sea providing desalting capacity is no problem; preventing the water quality from deteriorating as it courses to the customer, however. So there fourth water is very scarce or needing for the country Kuwait.
Culture:
Clothes:
Traditional Clothing for men = Most Kuwaiti men wear a dishdasha, which is a long-sleeve, floor length with a button- down opening to the waist. Light materials in white or ivory are typical in summer.Traditional Clothes for Women = The traditional Kuwaiti woman wears a long-sleeve, loose, floor length dress or daraa. On festive occasions it may be covered with a sheer.
Traditional Clothes for Children = One will sometimes see children playing football wearing dishdashas with the hems pulled upwards. Girls wear wear bukniks over there colorful daraa. Kuwait's official language is Modern Standard Arabic. There music is very traditional, there is some pop there and then but mostly traditional. Some of the hit singers are Ibrahim Dashti, Nabil Shoail, and many more. Some of the country's holidays are different than the United States. Here are a list of some of them down below.
- January 3rd: Milad un Nabi (Birth of Prophet Muhammad)
- February 25th: National Day
- February 26th: Liberation Day
- October 13th: Islamic New Year
Climate:
The yearly temperature was hard to find so I did it myself. July is the maximum temperature and January is the Minimum temperature. The range is from 42 degrees C max and 7 degrees C min. So somewhere in between so about 20 C. Since 1985 seawater temperature in Kuwait Bay, Arabian Gulf, has increases on average 0.6 C per decade. Researcher Dr. Thamer Al-Rashidi said, "Because the waters of Kuwait Bay are well mixed by tides can be used to assess temperature trends over time in the bay as a whole.
History:
- Invasion of Kuwait (Iraq-Kuwait War) - It was a major conflict between Ba'athist Iraq and the Emirate of Kuwait. In 1990 Iraq accused Kuwait of stealing Iraqi petroleum through slant drilling, although some Iraqi sources indicate Saddam Huessein's to attack.
- During the 45 year period from 1965 to 2005, the number of Kuwaiti nationals increased. Bringing more and more immigrants to Kuwait. It increased 5.8 times from 0.17 to 0.97 million, amounting to an annual growth rate of 3.9% per year.
Compare and Contrast:
- The food in the United States is very similar to Kuwait. Kuwait has rice and chicken just like we do. But they have something called Machboos, which is rice, chicken and other stuff on it. (Rice, Chicken, Machboos, Prominent Dish)
- Religions are also alike. In there country they have lots of Islamic and Christian religions which are very alike to the United States. (Islam, Muslim, Christianity, Judaism)
