German Culture vs USA Culture
The German classes investigated German history and culture and presented a PowerPoint or Prezi to show the distinction between the two cultures.

After reading Because of Winn Dixie, Mrs. Shireman's class did research on various dog breeds. We discussed good and bad searching and used the "spoof" site about the Great Bernese Mountain Dog, which turned out to be a German Shepherd. The students used visible sites, after evaluating the sources.
PNC/Concurrent Enrollment- Dystopia Research
The PNC/Concurrent Enrollment classes took a mini field trip to Purdue North Central. They were given an inservice on the use of their library and had a scavenger hunt. The class is currently working on research of a dystopia.

- RC Celebration was a MOVIE and POPCORN. Students that doubled their points had an extra recess!
- A committee of teachers is being formed to sort through the "bugs" we have encountered with the new program.
LaPorte County Library
Alice Mathews gave an introduction to the Junior Class about what is available at the LP County Library. The students were issued a library card. They will be ordering books through the library for their Decades Research project.
The name for our collaboration with the library will be Library 360. The fifth grade and Senior Econ classes will be the first groups to begin our new endeavor.
