Week 24 - 2/21/2020
Week 24 - Q2 Honors Ceremony and A Visit from Engineers!
Also this week we had a visit from Lockheed Martin to celebrate National Engineering Week! Many of our 6th grade students had the opportunity to explore engineering projects (pictured below testing tables made out of newspaper and tape) with engineers from Lockheed Martin, a great experience brought to us by Ms. Wu!
And finally, next week is our Multicultural Night on Thursday, February 27. This evening event is an awesome celebration of the diversity of our community, featuring food, performances, and opportunities to talk to neighbors with all kinds of different backgrounds. I hope you will join us next Thursday at 6 pm!

Meet a New Teacher @ MP Middle School!
Mr. Stadtman is an Instructional Aide responsible for supporting students in classrooms throughout the building, as well as coaching football at the high school. He is originally from Fallon, Nevada. He can be found in the IA pod near the nurse's office or all over the school.
Quick Facts about Mr. Stadtman:
-He attended Malone University in Canton, Ohio!
-Majored in Criminal Justice!
-Likes reading, cooking, and watching sports and crime shows!
-Enjoys anything to do with the outdoors and coaching football for MPHS!
-Loves spending time with friends and family!
When you see him in the building, at a school sporting event (he's at every football event,) or in the community, please welcome Mr. Stadtman to Manassas Park!
Reminder - School Starts at 7:25!
Especially when it rains or is extremely cold, we see an increase in the number of parents driving. This creates a longer than normal backup on Euclid Ave, which may lead to tardiness to school. As a reminder, 3 tardies to school in the same quarter results in an after school detention.
Please continue to use the same arrival procedures in all weather events to keep things moving smoothly, and leave a little early on rainy/cold mornings just in case there are more parents driving than normal.
Thank you!

Reminder for Walkers/Bike Riders In the Morning!
Crossing Guards are an integral part of the team that gets your children to school safely each day. Please note that crossing guards are at their posts beginning at 6:30 am each school morning. As the mornings are dark and many motorists utilize the Bloom Quarry intersection, please help ensure your children are not crossing intersections before crossing guards are in place. Crossing Guards are prohibited from directing traffic, but their presence will assist in safe road crossing for all pedestrians.
