Istation

I-station is our new reading computer tool. It will be used next school year instead of Lexia. I have started some of the students on it at school, so they can see what it is like. I am sending home letters with those students so they can work on it at home as well. There are directions on the letter for signing up. It is important that you go through the steps as told in the letter, or you will not be able to work on it at home. If you have any questions I will try to answer them, but this is a new program to me as well.

Front Row Math and Reading

In class we have started using Front Row. It is a web based math program that allows students to practice at their pace. The link is below, our class code is vznt4u. We have started the measurement unit. This will be used as an independent practice and will not take the place of what we are learning in the classroom.

The Kansas Library has free digital books. If you go to this page you can click on many different types. The one we use in class the most is Tumble books.

Recycle those dried out markers

All around Starside students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!

Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house – even non-Crayola brands, dry erase markers, and highlighters. Drop-off boxes will be located in your student’s classroom for your child to deposit the markers.
