Prairie Trails

August 22, 2021 Weekend Update

Big picture

Kindergarten is off to a great start........

We have had a busy week meeting our teachers, settling into our classrooms and learning new routines. Our Chipmunks are excited to be in school and they are loving our amazing playground. They sure do look exhausted by the end of the day! We are also looking forward to welcoming our pre-schoolers to Prairie Trails this week starting on Monday.

LUNCHROOM CHANGE

We tried the towel routine during lunch, and while it was very cute to see kids picnicking in our multi-purpose room, it was difficult to keep kids in a defined space. We have decided to bring back our lunchroom tables. We will have enough tables to keep kids spaced out and grouped with their homeroom clusters. This change will definitely improve our student's comfort in the lunchroom. No need to send towel back to school on Monday.

Bus Concerns

For those families with children riding the bus, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the bus routes this year. I know your children have been arriving home later than was posted on the timesheet you received from the district. Our drivers are learning new routes, all while trying to get your children home on time, but more importantly home safely. I'm hopeful this week will be even smoother. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding bus services.
