January 2016 Newsletter
Message from the Principal
Families,
I am excited to be starting a new year with all of you at HomeLink. Soon we will be starting the registration process and we are looking forward to seeing if some of our changes made a positive impact on your experience. I would like to congratulate Mrs. Luisa Campbell for her outstanding contributions to our Music program. I will be honoring Mrs. Campbell at the January 26th School Board Meeting. Congratulations, Luisa!
There are a couple of things that I wanted to send out reminders on:
1. Parent Support: Next semester we will be launching Parent Support opportunities led by myself and other staff members. This is still under construction and we will be notifying you of updates on this in the future. Stay tuned!
2. HomeLink’s bathroom policy: You may have noticed that we have been making some changes inside the school building and in particular adding in new signage. Here are a couple of reminders about bathroom expectations:
a. The main restroom in the hall labeled “boys” and “girls” is for student use only. All adults including staff should not be using this restroom.
b. There are two restrooms in the hallway that are clearly marked for staff use. Staff will only be using these restrooms.
c. The restroom in the front is marked “visitor restroom”. This restroom is intended for all adult visitors and or families that need to access a restroom.
If you have any questions about the use and availability of our restrooms, please ask an office staff member. We are happy to accommodate your needs.
As always, we are excited to be partnered with you and look forward to another great semester with you at HomeLink.

Cavalcade of Authors: Friday, March 11, 2016, 7:30am-2pm @ CBC
Do you love to get lost in the pages of a book? Do you wish you could write like some of your favorite authors, the words of your story are just dying to get out, but you don't even know where to begin? Where does a writer get his or her ideas? Imagine having the opportunity to have these very questions answered, in person, by the authors of books you've recently read! We will meet at CBC at 7:30 am, and you will get to attend four workshops with four different authors who will talk to you about their books and how to be a good writer. It will last until 2:00 pm. For more details, please find the packets in the school entryway that say "Read for Life: Cavalcade of Authors" on the front. Or for more details, please check the Cavalcade of Authors website www.cavalcadeofauthors.org or email Amie Clayton: amie.clayton@rsd.edu
