Learning in Our Room
STEM and Alien Genetics
We wrapped up our unit on animal adaptations with a discussion on genetics and inherited traits. Students applied their knowledge of genetics and inherited traits by designing an alien. We are also working on a STEM challenge where students are building the longest chain possible using one sheet of paper.
Multiplication in Math
Third grade students are continuing to learn their multiplication facts. Fourth grade students are learning to multiply 2-digt numbers using the traditional algorithm.
Inspired by Published Poets
We are finishing our unit on poetry, and poems will be posted in the hallway for all to see by Monday. Student poems were inspired by poems by Robert Frost, William Carlos Williams, William Blake, Valerie Worth, Arnold Adoff, and Walter Dean Myers.
