Micro Elementary School Newsletter
September 30th Edition
The small school where BIG things happen!
I cannot miss the opportunity to tell all of our staff how proud I am of our school. We are not there yet. We are not a finished product. However, I do think it is clear that we are making great strides. We are providing wonderful opportunities for students. We are working towards personalization! We are problem solvers! We work together! We are promoting a love of literacy for our students! Keep up the great energy and the positivity!
Each students counts. Every moment matters.
Thanks for all that you do!

Micro Headlines
- October 2nd: Todd from RTI will be in to meet with 5th, 4th, and 1st grade. All other PLC's will met on Wednesday of this week.
- Homeroom Teachers: You will want to familiarize yourself with the "I Can" statements that are on the report card. The "I Can" statements will be made up of multiple standards. This will shorten and simplify the report cards. We will discuss this week at PLC:) Screencast Feedback Form Talking Points
- Mrs. Brannan is collecting empty paper towel rolls for a reading project. Please bring drop them off at her classroom.
- Translation Support: Ana Infante is our assigned translator. You can reach her via email @ anainfante@johnston.k12.nc.us. She will be scheduled to be at Micro at least twice a month. On these days, when possible, feel free to set up meetings. Mrs. Coley was kind enough to set up a binder that you can schedule meetings or reserve time with Ms. Infante. This binder is found in the mail box area. However, if you need to meet with her on other days or times, feel free to email her.
- We have just been informed that Johnston County is included in the Presidential Declaration of Disaster from Hurricane Florence. What that means for us is that beginning Monday, October 1st, ALL students can receive a meal at NO CHARGE. The No Charge meals will end on October 31 2018. This will be for meals only. Students are allowed to still purchase extra items and adults are still allowed to purchase items or a meal.
If you are interested in having your name shared with parents who are looking for an out of school tutor, please let me know so I can add you to a list that we will share with parents.
