Module 3 Trauma Informed Approach: Safety

•The well-being of a school is promoted when people feel physically and emotionally safe and secure

•Relationships are built on trust so that people are free to share ideas, opinions, or feelings without fear of reprisal or being shamed

•In the classroom and on campus, there is a focus on creating strategies that convey a sense of safety. The goal is to build relationships that promote safety and security.

Staff in the Spotlight: Crissy Cooper

Crissy Cooper is our awesome Testing Coordinator. She has been at AHS since January 2019. She is always upbeat and has a positive attitude every day! She will help any staff member or student in need. She loves watching sports, especially college football. Her favorite team is Notre Dame and you can often find her decked out in their gear. Her favorite animal are bobcats. Crissy, also known as Coach Cooper used to coach Girls Golf, Volleyball, Soccer and Track. When she's not working on testing, she loves cooking breakfast sausage and hanging out with her husband and grandbaby!

Congratulations to Ms. Dusek & our Marching Sharks for earning an Excellent at MPA's this weekend!

Thankful Sharks!

3 more weeks until Thanksgiving break! Let's spend the next 15 days spreading positivity and kindness around our campus. Say thank you to a fellow shark by writing them a thank you message and placing it in the box in the mailroom near our old sign-in sheets. Each week until break, notes will be published in this newsletter and then delivered to mailboxes. Be sure to sign your name on the note so the staff member you're recognizing knows who it is from!

Kodi Bell would like to say thank you to Ms. Moon for always feeding her lunch/fun snacks!

Ms. Maertin would like to recognize Ms. Marsh for having a positive attitude and truly caring for her students no matter how tough things get!

Mrs. Allison would like to thank our entire AHS staff for always caring about our sharks. Everyday I see a colleague lifting up one of our students when they need it the most. I am so grateful to work with such caring and kind people!
