Creative Writing
8/19/13
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” - Ernest Hemingway
“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.” - Stephen King
Beliefs and Skills
Like the famous authors quoted above, you too have beliefs about writing - how to accomplish it successfully and genuinely. You also have some skills in your toolbox, and some that you wish to acquire. Think back to your discussions with your workshops last week, and answer the questions below:
- What are your beliefs on writing? List, describe, or draw them!
- What are your current skills as a writer? What do you wish to improve upon or gain as a writer?
- How will you use your beliefs on writing to your advantage? How will your current skill-set help you throughout this semester?
