Texas DECA State Career and Development Conference
THS had 19 state finalists, with 13 advancing to DECA’s International Career and Development Conference, the national competition level, to be held April 29-May 2 in Nashville. Last year we had 16 finalists, with seven advancing.
The following students were State Finalists and received medals for their competitive event:

The following students were State Finalists, received medals for their competitive event, AND advanced to the DECA International Career & Development Conference:

Ghulam A. and Afif A. – Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making

Ema Z. was one of 19 state officer candidates running for six spots. Each candidate was scored in several areas included a test, two interviews, an application, and votes by representatives from each of the 13 Texas DECA Districts.
Ema was elected as one of the six state officers who will serve this next year!

In March, we are getting ready to saddle up and celebrate our staff with a Rodeo Roundup! We will be celebrating our staff on Friday, March 6th.

National English Honor Society
The Travis High School chapter of the National English Honor Society is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Sophomores and juniors who have exemplified academic excellence in English language and literature, who have demonstrated exemplary character, and who wish to promote literacy while sharing their love of reading and writing may apply. Interested sophomores and juniors, please pick up an application before or after class from Mrs. Kimbrough in room E130.
