What Is It?
The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
When Do You Use It?
You use Satire when trying to entertain the reader with humor. And add a clever use into an essay,or paper. For example, in a movie such as Walle-E they add in humor that parents will find funny to connect to a large amount of people.

To use satire, use different types of satire found below.
Types Of Satire
- Exaggeration
To enlarge, increase, or represent something beyond normal bounds so that it becomes ridiculous
- Parody
to imitate the techniques and/or style of some person, place, or thing
- Reversal
to present in the opposite of normal order
- Incongruity
to present things that are out of place or are absurd in relation to surroundings
Why Do You Use It?
Satire causes people to think about the faults of today's society, and cause thought provoking thoughts in the minds of the audience.
