Writing
About half of the students have done their first round of edits for chapter 1 and the rest will finish up this week. We will continue working on final edits for chapter 1 and speeches this week.
Language Arts
Wordly Wise: We will not be doing Wordly Wise this week. We will resume our activities next week and we will take the unit 14 test on 4/28.
Words Their Way: No WTW this week
Reading
We will not be doing reading this week due to ISTEP+. We will resume our figurative language unit next week.
Math
We will continue our math skills review this week. Our focus will be on classifying shapes, measuring to the nearest 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, and mm, and in/out boxes. We will start back up with our Everyday Math curriculum next week.
Science
We will continue our final unit of science this week. We will continue learning about the forces that affect motion and will do a couple activities to demonstrate how friction affects speed. We also will be discussing the design process that engineers go through when developing a new product.

Indiana State Museum Field Trip
We could also use some chaperones for this field trip. I currently have 1 chaperone signed up. I can take three more at the $5.50 rate. Any additional chaperones are welcome to attend, but will need to pay the full admission of $16.75. If you would like to chaperone, you should be willing to:
-Ride the bus to and from the museum.
-Supervise a small group of students throughout the museum.
-Refrain from purchasing food from the concession stand or visiting the gift shop.

End of Year Survey
As we begin the process to plan for next year, we would like your feedback on how this school year went for your family and input for next year. The first five fields are required but the last seven fields are optional. We thank you in advance for giving us your honest, yet professional feedback. The survey will be open until the end of business day on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. For those of you with multiple children at SGE, it is set up to all for multiple responses. Please click here to access the survey. Thank you!
