Introducing our new police officer-
Mr. Rolando Perez
I am Officer Roland Perez, Northside ISD Police. I'm originally from Edinburg, Tx and grew up as the oldest of 6 brothers and sisters. I started my career over 14 years ago with the Mission Police Department, then later worked for the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office. In 2016, after much consideration, I relocated to San Antonio after being hired by San Antonio ISD Police Department. While working for SAISD, I covered such campuses as Wheatley Middle School, Poe Middle School, occasionally Highlands High School, and patrol. In September 2019, I was hired by Northside, and after training was assigned to Warren High School. When the opportunity presented itself to become the Officer for O'Connor, I jumped at the chance to take on a new responsibility. I'm happy to have been selected, and hope to offer the highest quality police service I have to offer. Mr. Perez will be providing our campus with 24/7 protection for our animals and our facilities. He is residing on site next to the Q building shop.

December Teacher Feature: Mr. Brian Clay
Mr. Clay was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Clay graduated from O'Connor in 2011 where he participated in the FFA program and showed chickens and turkeys. Following high school Mr. Clay attended Texas A&M University where he majored in Agricultural Science. Graduating from Texas A&M in 2014 allowed Mr. Clay to swiftly return to work at his alma mater in 2015 as an Ag teacher. Mr. Clay runs our greenhouse, coaches FFA teams and handles all poultry and horticulture projects. In 2018 Mr. Clay graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville with a masters degree in Agriculture Science. Brian also serves as the chair of the Former Students of O'Connor FFA organization which works to reconnect alum to the program & current students by fundraising and volunteering. Mr. Clay is a man with many accolades including: Texas A&M poultry judging national champion, Texas High School Poultry Judging Champion, Texas A&M Poultry Judging Champion and has trained with the National winning team. Mr. Clay was also Northside ISD's 1st year teacher of the year in 2016. Mr. Clay is married and is the father to two little girls, Emily and Catherine. In his spare time he loves to saltwater fish, hunt, and go hiking. The aspect of being an Ag teacher that Mr. Clay enjoys the most is working with the the students on FFA teams. He believes the skills they learn while participating in these events set them up for their future in public speaking, decision making skills, responsibility and obtaining a competitive edge. We are lucky to have Mr. Clay on staff and we thank him for all that he does!
