JANUARY CALENDAR
Please note that we have special schedules in January– these rotations were put in place by the district (two all 8 days, etc) to account for instructional hours. Trivory is your best reminder for bell schedules.
Finals Schedule- 1/24-26
Focus for January!
- Brittany & Sanchez- will complete the hard-copy curriculum guide (1/3-1/27)
- After the district rollover- Judy Brown will pre-load all required courses in Synergy (1/23-2/3)
- Course Descriptions
- Title of the class
- Highlights of the course (showcase the course)
We will utilize our Staff Mtgs & Flex to create the department videos
MORE INFO TO COME- JUST AN FYI
Department Videos
Teams will have information, criteria for each video, length of time, etc, etc... This will allow students to have both visual & audio as they make informed decisions during forecasting.
Attendance Supports & Interventions
Please remember to "hype-up" our Blitzes, so students understand the importance of being on-time
Detention- Thanks to ALL of you for your accurate attendance taking, as we look to add supports for students getting to class on time. We only have 3 weeks worth of data thus far, and as we continue to conduct lunch detentions we will share monthly data.
Numbers have ranged from as high as 70+ students, to as low as 40+ students. We know students are finding loop-holes in the policy (their kids that's what they are supposed to do), so we will need to adjust accordingly.
Cadre Follow-Up Q & A
I know some have had some questions from the Cadre email- the frequently asked question section on Pepper has some information. I have copied some of the Q&A based on the questions from this team...
- What if the educator attended Cadres but did not mark their attendance in Pepper?
- You can view the attendance reports from Google Meet and Zoom HERE
2. How will I know which cadre an educator is recommended to attend.
- Educators who teach a content area with a new adoption is encouraged to attend that grade-band/grade-level content cadre. Educators who teach a content area without a new adoption is encouraged to attend the content cadre that they primarily teach during the school year. Principals may advise educators what content cadre to attend. If people need help determining which content cadre to attend, please contact TPL at tpl@pps.net.
- Please ask educators to share their specific feedback with the individual cadre content team. Cadres are the only time within the contract and work day for educators to engage in professional learning with their peers from across the district. How could this time be used for valuable? Have you ever had time in the district to align with colleagues?
Again, these are district responses.. Please let me know if you have more questions or concerns
