Mayfield Messenger
Welcome to the start of the 2020-2021 School Year
Welcome to our Community
Hello Mayfield Intermediate School Community!
Welcome to the students, parents and families that will be joining our Mayfield Community for the 2020-21 school year. We are excited to begin working with all of the 875 students who are registered to be a Mayfield Bobcat this year.
This school year will be different from any other school year. As you are well aware, all Manassas City Public Schools will start the school year virtually. Students will receive live instruction from their teachers between Tuesday and Friday every week. Mondays will be learning days in which students can view recorded lessons, complete class activities, and meet virtually with their teachers.
We look forward to an awesome 2020-21 school year in which everyone is a learner. We will continue to communicate with our families using the Mayfield Messenger. This weekly newsletter will be emailed and texted to families every Friday afternoon.
Always Learning!

Student Orientation Week
The school will provide all students with math manipulatives (fraction tiles), graph paper, a personal dry erase board, art supplies and consumable workbooks for specific content areas (math, science, language arts).
Homeroom teachers have been reaching out to families for the past week to schedule times for students to come in and participate in orientation. Please check your email to see if your child's teacher has reached out to schedule an appointment time. If you have not received an email from your teacher, please check spam email because we have heard that some emails have been going there.
It is important to note that we are only permitting 1 parent to accompany each student during orientation to maintain social distance and follow CDC guidelines for mitigating the spread of Covid-19. All visitors are required to complete a health screening prior to entering the building and wear a face covering while in the building.
