What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
Last week was an action-packed week! Some highlights included favorite book characters day, the Luce Musical audition, a math webinar for parents (the webinar video is linked in the District Update Section), and Canton Stock to end the week. Please read this week's bulletin for important information and updates on upcoming events.
Title 1 information night
If your child is receiving reading support in the reading room, please join us for our Title 1 Information Night on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 pm at the Rodman Administration Building in Room 33A. Please RSVP via the email that you received from Ms. Coyle, our Title 1 Coordinator.
Luce DEI
The Luce DEI will launch in November on the last Tuesday of the month on November 29. We are looking for members who are interested in joining the team. Our goal this year is to create a sense of belonging at the Luce for all community members. If you are interested in joining our DEI team, please email me directly at: lamoury@cantonma.org.
Parent/Guardian Conferences
Parent/Guardian conferences are coming up. Your child's teacher will reach out to you with updates on scheduling for your conference. This year, the format is either in-person or virtual. However, whatever format you choose, we will expect parents/guardians to commit to the format selected. If you are unable to make your in-person meeting, you will not be able to change the format. Conferences are tightly scheduled. Please adhere to your scheduled time on the day of your conference.

Project 351 Food Drive
Jasmine Findlen and Tara Geoghan will be hosting a food drive November 8-23 in support of the Canton Food Pantry. Please consider donating generously at any of the donation bin locations found in the flyer below. Our bin will be next to the principal's office in the lobby. Even 1 can will make a difference to all the families that use the pantry prior to Thanksgiving. You may also make monetary donations through PayPal on the pantry's website. The food drive team has also created an Amazon Wishlist if you would like to order food from there and ship it directly to the pantry. Thank you!

Luce CAPT Update
Upcoming Programs and Events
- Please join us at our next meeting. This will be a virtual meeting on Wednesday, November 16th at 6 pm. Zoom link to follow closer to the meeting.
- We need to have at least 15 paid members to vote on a few items so please attend.
- We need volunteers for the following: Holiday Shoppe, 5th-grade promotion, the play, and the fun run! To learn more please email LuceCapt@gmail.com.
- Thank you all for participating in our change wars, congratulations to our 5th graders. We raised over $2500 for CAPT and more is still coming in.

Math Webinar
On Wednesday, November 2, we held two math webinars for elementary parents and guardians in Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5. The webinar shared information about our curriculum review process and why Reveal Math was chosen, shared some components of the program and helped parents understand how they can access the online resources from home. The recordings of the webinar are available for parents.

K-5 Curriculum Overviews (Repost)
Elementary Curriculum Overviews
Information about the curriculum taught at each grade level in core subjects; English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, can be found in the new Curriculum Overviews that are available on the District website. They have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. If you need a different language, please contact Deborah Rooney at rooneyd@cantonma.org or your child's teacher.
