Lincoln Middle School -- Weekend Update
Lincoln Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break! Over the next couple of weeks, students will be hearing messages about finishing the year strong and ending the school year on a positive note. Your reinforcement of that messaging is important and appreciated as we head into the last two months of school. We are grateful for your partnership and support!
We have numerous items to update you on which are all listed below. Thank you to the PTO for all of their support and support of our school. The PTO is a great way to get involved at Lincoln and if you are looking for ways to contribute at Lincoln, please consider serving within the PTO. If you have any questions you can always reach out to them at info.lincolnpto@gmail.com and they will be happy to provide any information you need.
Have a wonderful three-day weekend, and we look forward to seeing the Lions next week!

PTO NEWS
8th GRADE FAMILIES: The 8th Grade Committee is excited to announce our year-end schedule for our Class of 2023! Please see the attached flyer that includes all the details on the Baby Picture Wall, Yard Signs, 8th Grade Party and Picnic! We can't wait to celebrate our Class of 2023!
DINE AND SHARE: Thanks to your help, our dine and share with Superdawg was a great success! Stay tuned for our next one!
COOLEST SCHOOL 2023: Looking forward to the warmer weather? We sure are! It's the perfect time for our "Coolest School" event! Coolest School is an annual event held by Capannari Ice Cream to give back to the local schools and create a fun experience for the kids and teachers. Lincoln's "Scoop It Up" day is scheduled for April 17th from 3 - 9 pm, so SAVE THE DATE! Capannari's is bringing back the Celebrity Scooper for this event. That means that students can come for ice cream while their favorite teachers are scooping! How cool! See the attached flyer for more details.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: As we wind down the end of the school year we are in need of a few parent volunteers to fill critical roles on the PTO for the 2023-24 school year. We will have openings for President, Vice-President, and Secretary. If you are interested in any of these roles, please email us at info.lincolnpto@gmail.com or attend our next PTO Meeting on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00pm. These roles can also be co-owned so bring a friend and join the board! This is a fun way to get engaged in the middle school years.

Navigating Social Media
In partnership with Officer Greg Sill of the Mount Prospect Police Department, Lincoln will be hosting a parent information night where we will be discussing commonly used social media platforms among our students. The goal of this presentation is to provide parents with tools to navigate the complex world of social media, suggestions for having conversations with your child about social media, cyberbullying, and the mental health impact social media can have on our students.
In addition to Officer Sill and myself, we will have members of the Lincoln staff participating in the discussion. We hope you will join us as we seek to provide you with the tools and resources to help you navigate and understand the social media world.
The presentation will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 7:00 pm at Lincoln Middle School in the LRC. Please RSVP using this link so we know who will be in attendance, and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at elarson@d57.org.
