I just celebrated my 10th wedding anniversary with my husband, John. He is a principal in Lafayette. Our daughters will be joining me at PVE, Emma and Grace. Emma will be in 4th grade and Grace will be in 2nd grade this year. It will be our first time together in a building and we’re all so excited. We just moved to Zionsville in September and we absolutely love it.

In my free time, you will find me reading, swimming, or doing anything outside with my family and our dogs, Daisy, Chip, and Lola.
Kristen DeLoddere - Special Education Resource Teacher
Hello! I am very excited to be joining the Pleasant View Elementary team and family this year!
Experience
I am going into my 14th year of teaching. I have taught all of my previous 13 years in Avon Community School Corporation. I have taught 2nd and 3rd grades over the last 13 years. I love getting to know my students and their families and building strong relationships with them. I love finding ways to engage students in lessons and inspiring them to love learning!
I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education and Mild Intervention License from Butler University in 2008. I received my Masters in Education with a Reading focus from Ball State University in 2012.
Personal Life
I grew up in the small town of Rochester, Indiana. I have been married to my husband, Josh, for 11 years. We have three children—Alison (Ali-8 years old) who will be in 3rd grade this year, Brody (5) who will be in Pre-K this year, and Cameron (Cam-3) who will be in preschool this year. They are so excited to be coming to Zionsville Schools this year! We also have two fur-babies, Murphy (our 13 year old Labradoodle) and Ziggy (our 8 year old Dorkie) in our family. We have loved living in Zionsville for the last 5 years and have lived in the area for the last 12 years.
Hobbies
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family and friends. We love spending time camping, spending time on the lake or swimming in the pool, traveling to Disney, the beach, or the mountains, and spending time playing and enjoying life outdoors.
Katie Leach - Kindergarten Teacher
Hello! My name is Katie Leach! I am so excited to be a part of the Pleasant View team this year, and continue to grow within this community! I am looking forward to getting to know you all better, and have a great year! Here are some things to help you get to know me…
Experiences and Education
I graduated from Ball State University where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Autism Behavior Studies. I was fortunate enough to have completed my student teaching here at PVE in Kindergarten, and then transitioned into working as an Instructional Assistant for the remainder of the school year! I have loved my time here at PVE so far. I am thankful to have been able to learn from the staff here, and am looking forward to continuing that!
Family and Fun
I grew up and still live in Lebanon, IN with my mom and our dog Daisy! I have a very close-knit extended family, who I love spending time with on the weekends. We often spend those weekends watching softball and cooking out. We love traveling together and this past summer did a trip out west visiting 7 national parks, there were 13 of us! Other than being with family, I enjoy cooking, reading, and going on walks.
Kristen Lee - Speech Language Pathologist
Hello! I am thrilled to join the PVE family this year and I am eager to get to know you! A little bit about me…
Education
As a Chicago native, I started with a B.A. in English at Northern Illinois University. While at NIU, I served as a dorm counselor for the Program for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, where I gained sign language skills and a deep affection for the Deaf Community.
A few years later, I returned to college to get my teaching certification, but instead I found my calling in Communication Disorders (B.S & M.S.) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Experience
A bit of a gypsy, I have practiced speech language therapy for more than 20 years, with experience across clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and schools. I have experience working with hearing loss and cochlear implants, autism and motor challenges, as well as stuttering. Curious by nature, I have an eclectic approach to therapy, having worked with newborns to senior citizens. With that all being said, I have happily called ZWest home over the last 5 years, where I relished working with middle schoolers and preschoolers.
Family
My husband Jamie and I raised our two boys, Miles & Isaac, just outside of Madison in Stoughton, Wisconsin for 10 years. Then work in the hospital setting called us to Indiana, where we were providentially led to a home in Zionsville. My first experiences here began with walking through the front doors of PVE. It seems I’ve come full circle as I pack both boys off to Purdue next month and walk back through the front doors of PVE!
Favorites
Cheese! Is that too cliché?! I really do love all things Wisconsin: hiking, cooking, and gardening…Badgers and Packers! My younger son Isaac took up beekeeping for his 7th grade Passion Project at ZMS. As he leaves for Purdue’s College of Ag Dept., I have happily become the “bee nanny” for his three hives. I am developing a pretty good record at catching bee swarms, so call me if you’re in a pinch!
Theresa Walters - Universal Preschool Teacher
Hello! I am excited to be joining the Pleasant View Elementary team! I look forward to getting to know you all of you.
Experience
I am going into my 18th year of preschool teaching. I have taught 11 years of my career at Burgett’s Child Care Center in West Lafayette, Indiana, 6 years part time at Eagle Church Preschool in Whitestown, Indiana and 2 years part time at Eagle Elementary in the Developmental Preschool. I am patient and love to appreciate each child for their unique selves.
While staying home as a mother, I volunteered in the Zionsville Developmental Preschool and Kindergarten Rooms.
I have continuing education through both Purdue University and Ivy Tech College.
Personal Life
I reside in Zionsville with my husband, Jim and my three children, Adam 18, Alex, 16, and Emily 12. We have a sweet dog, Josie, an aggressive hamster, Georgie, and a speedy goldfish, Flapper.
Hobbies
Long walks, my church, watching my children play sports, gardening, and vacations.
Covid-19 Mitigation Strategies and Protocols
As copied from Dr. Robison's email sent on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
A recommendation about masks and other return to school CoVID-19 protocols was passed by the Board of Trustees. In brief, it states:
- All CoVID-19 decisions are subject to change.
- In school mitigations of hand washing, disinfecting, and enhanced HVAC circulation will continue until further notice.
- All forms of school transportation require mask wearing until further notice. (This is a federal regulation.)
- Wearing a mask indoors is strongly recommended for individuals not fully vaccinated until further notice, as per CDC recommendation.
- ZCS will not require vaccination for staff or students unless otherwise noticed.
- ZCS may require proof of vaccination status for school visitors.
- ZCS will continue to report on C-19 positives and close contacts until further notice.
- School events/sports can proceed without limitations unless otherwise noticed.
- The Superintendent may alter protocols if conditions change. Processes will be reviewed at the next Board meeting.
- If school is mandated to close for any reason, the Board reserves the right to revisit all re-start protocols.
- ZCS will not seek to know vaccination status for students or staff unless they are involved in contact tracing of a CoVID-19 positive case.
- Parents should keep ill children at home and report CoVID-19 symptoms and positive test results to the child’s school

Visitor and Volunteer Procedures
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 global pandemic, our procedures regarding welcoming guests to our building continue to evolve, with safety as our top priority. The ZCS Eagle Start Guide will give specifics regarding the most up-to-date district decisions regarding volunteers and visitors.
During the school day, all volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer opportunity, all volunteers must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check.. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.
During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign-in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
