Our March Zoom Meetings and Looking Ahead

It was wonderful to see your children and families during our March Family Faith Zoom Meetings last week! We hope you enjoyed the activities shared and your child learned more about our Catholic Feast Days and different saints that we celebrate.

In this week's, Activities for Family below, your child has an opportunity to learn and show a project about a saint they read about. We look forward to see your children's work and share them in our Family Faith Newsletter next week!

As we come into our final weeks of Lent, we teach our children that during these 40 days, we continue to grow in faith by actions of prayer, fasting, and giving. Below is a link and images of a 2022 Lent Calendar of Family Discipleship that illustrates specific practices families can focus each day during these next few weeks.

Our next Family Faith Faith Zoom/In-Person session is the week of April 24. Please check our Family Faith Newsletter for important updates for these classes as we hope to return in person!

Mass Readings for Sunday, March 20: Third Sunday of Lent

In this weekend's Gospel, we hear the story of the Samaritan woman's encounter with Jesus at the well. During Jesus' time, a Jewish male would not often speak to a Samaritan woman. So for this woman, she not only was surprised that Jesus approached her asking for water. But from their meeting, she learned the truth and believed in Him.

At the end of the Gospel, the Samaritan woman goes into town to tell everyone what the Lord has done for her. "He has told me all about myself, he has welcomed me, told me about himself." There was a sharing of life-stories, and for the woman a great sense of being accepted.

Sharing our faith story and the story of our relationship with Jesus is our mission. We can share truths about Jesus, or share about what the Gospel might demand, but that will not lead to a change of heart in ourselves and those who hear us. Witness is what moves people. What each of us, and what we do reflects our faith-life. Sharing about our prayer, our love of God, our doubts and difficulties, move us.

Activities for Family

Learn about Your Saint!

During our zoom meetings last week, families had time to explore a variety of websites for children to learn more about different saints.

For this week's craft activity, children can choose a saint they would like to learn more about and create a picture or project showing what they learn!

  1. Using the links below, children choose a specific saint they would like to learn more about. This saint can be the saint with their same name, a saint that is celebrated on their birthday, or just a saint they are interested in learning more about.
  2. Use the website below to read and learn about the chosen saint
  3. Create a drawing, picture, or any project showing the saint and what they are known for. Be sure to include your:

  • Saint's Name
  • Saint's Feast Day from the calendar

Don't forget to snap a picture of your work and send it to us! Email: catherinek@holyfamilyforall.org

2022 Bishop’s Annual Appeal

Celebrating 40 Years — Continuing to Fan the Flame of Faith into Service

If you have yet to make your pledge to this year’s Bishop’s Annual Appeal, you will have the opportunity to do so next weekend, March 26/27, which has been designated as Bishop’s Annual Appeal In-Pew Weekend. Please prayerfully consider a gift to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal to help our parish reach its goal. If we can exceed our goal, 50% of the amount collected over goal will be returned to us in the form of a parish rebate. Just as important as our financial goal is our goal of reaching 100% participation. Every gift, no matter the size, is important and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Uplift Video of the Week!

A Major Case of the Monday Blues!

This 4-year old, Landry King from Andover Kansas, has a major case of the Monday blues! As he was walking to his school bus one morning, he plopped down on the driveway — apparently exasperated that it was Monday again!

His mom posted the video to thank the school bus attendant for being patient with him. While she admits that her son can be a bit dramatic, we can ALL relate to his reaction to the start of the week!
