OLYMPIC REGRESSION OF LONG JUMP
JUMP INTO THE SANDPIT OF GLORY!!!
A JUMP FOR THE GOLD
The first long jump was part of the first Olympics held by the Greeks! This old event takes mass muscle power in your legs, and challenges other men and women to see who will take the gold home! Long Jump was featured in the first modern Olympics which was in 1896. The event involves a man or women running down the track, jumping before hitting the board and lunging your body and feet landing in a sandpit. This event takes sweat, thigh power, and guts which leads to glory!
Battle of the Genders
Since the beginning of time Men, and Women have been fighting over who's better. Women, or Men? With mathematical calculations we may just see the answer to this question. Maybe Men will always be better, or Maybe Women will pass them in the future. Math decides this hard to crack question. Who will victor in Long Jump, Men, or Women?
RESEARCH
Goal of Study
The goal of this study, is to see when will the genders intersect and be the same. The outcome of this study is to exam who will be the victor, and come out on top!

Linear Regression
The line of best fit has been drawn to see what year they will be equal. The data represents Olympic gold medalist of Women, and Men. The blue trend line represents men, and the red represents women.
When Two Roads Meet
Intersection Information
The Intersection represents the time they will be equal. The results after that would be Women increasing in distance, and Men decreasing. The Intersection also gives us the distance that will be jumped to be equal.
Wrap Up!
The X Coordinate
The x coordinate tells us the year they will be equal and surpass each other. The year that was calculated was 2187! That would be the 84th Olympic since Long Jump started! Since it landed on one year before the next Summer Olympics I rounded up so that's how I got 84.
The Y Coordinate
The y coordinate tells us the distance jumped in meters. The y coordinate will tell us what distance will be jumped, which is predicted to be 7.8699 which could be rounded to 7.87. This will take place in the 84th Olympics. The Men's distance has barely increased, while the Women's distance has almost doubled since the first Olympic Gold Medalist. Men will slowly decrease after the year 2187, while Women will climb to get the Gold in Long Jump.
