Dear Families-Read on for the News

No School Monday, January 17

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr./Idaho Human Rights Day

We've Reached Our Playground Goal!!

Thank you to Paradise Creek Counseling for their Giving Tuesday Playground Fundraiser match of up to $1,500! Their incentive helped us raise over $4,000 which pushed us up to within spitting distance of our $25,000 goal. Thank you to all our donors! We could not have done it without you.

Keeping Our Students Safe and In School

Absences always increase during winter cold and flu season. Covid has only increased that trend. We appreciate our many proactive families who, out of concern for our Crew, are keeping their students home when 1. family members exhibit symptoms or 2. a known exposure has occurred. Many of our families are waiting until they receive negative test results before sending students back to school, even when vaccinated. Remember, to receive accurate test results, you need to wait 3 to 5 days after a suspected exposure before getting a Covid test. Our highest priority is to keep all our families safe and to keep our school operating for our students. We truly appreciate the cooperation we receive from our families to ensure that potential cases of Covid don't enter the school.

Welcome to our new Music Teacher!

My name is Jodi Marie Fisher and I am very passionate about music.

It is a joy to bring music to our community in many ways, such as getting my vocal music education degree from U of I, teaching private piano, guitar, and voice lessons, performing concerts at most of the coffee shops around town, teaching a baby music class to the community, and now especially to bring music to your kiddos and as a result to your homes!

In addition to the accomplishments I mentioned above, I am also a singer songwriter and have my own business (Colorfully Playing the Piano) writing children's picture books and coloring book songbooks for teaching piano to children and children at heart.

Since Palouse Prairie already has a lovely classroom set of ukuleles on hand, I plan to use them as my main instrument in the classroom. We will be singing, dancing, playing ukuleles, drums, other instruments from my personal collection, and overall making a lot of beautiful noise! I encourage you to support your child’s musical learning in whatever way you can at home.

We will have music once a week for a half hour and I will be developing the curriculum myself for learning to play the ukulele as well as experiencing all that music has to offer. If you have any thoughts on music for the school or any questions about myself or what I hope for the music program, please do not hesitate to contact me. All my musical best and my well wishes for the new year!

Winter is Here!

In the event that Moscow School District closes due to weather-related conditions, PPCS will also close. School closures will be announced on our website and social media.
